A two night stay with dinner and breakfast in this gorgeous, intimate hotel with real fires. Beautifully appointed, the Roman Camp is a short walk from the centre of Callander and located on the banks of the River Teith. Staff are exceptional as is the food. The hotel is run like a well oiled machine. Service is unobtrusive and attentive.... More

The service is outstanding, the food is amazing and this is just the most beautiful place to spend some time, whether it's evening dinner in the restaurant or afternoon tea on the lawn, I love it here, so special.

We stayed in the hotel and dined in the restaurant.the food was very good with good use of local scottish ingredients.the set menu is quite pricey but with an additional two courses added by the chef on the night was more than acceptable and we had the opportunity to sample truffles for the first time in the bonus course of... Food and accomodation are excellent. If you can't stay go and eat here. Do a lovely afternoon tea too.

This was a stunning setting, with a old world yet relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very attentive. The food was amazing considering the number of guests. This is a lovely place for a special event or for an intimate special occasion.

We've eaten here for much several times and we thought standards had slipped a little. A huge no, no, is the waiter bringing the wrong wine. The portions are fairly small but well cooked and presented. When one of us asked for a Kir as an aperitif, she was told that they "didn't have any cassis right now." We're not... More

This is a family run establishment. Sited in a former hunting lodge its elegant history is all around. The restaurants have class and style that match the carefully drawn decor. The best of everything is at your disposal. Menus that you will want to keep, dishes that remain a warm memory. There is a wonderful wine list and thoughtful advice... More

I have eaten here a couple of times over the years and it is special. The setting is fantastic - you walk in to an old building which is cosy yet formal. The staff are impeccable and very good. The library area, where you have pre-dinner drinks, is comfortable with a roaring fire and big Christmas tree. The restaurant itself... More

Enjoyed a pre Christmas treat at the Roman Camp Hotel & Restaurant. Very comfortable room, beautiful public rooms downstairs particularly the Library with one of six real fires on the property. Quite a collection of books too if you are still old fashioned enough to like to read an actual book!! The restaurant has a deservedly fine reputation. You can... More

To sit next to a crackling open fire in a beautifully decorated room having afternoon tea on a drieght winters afternoon is sheer bliss. Beautifully presented home baked scones and shortbread and good company. Highly recommend
