We have been back to this lovely little gem of a eatery several times now. Delicious lunch, many items with a Mediterranean feel. Friendly staff, quick service and a fair price. Tiny from the outside but a big welcome inside, we will be back!

Four of us had lunch here in the cozy upstairs room. The staff are very pleasant, the menu has some interesting things on it and the food is well-cooked and presented. Prices are exceptionally reasonable. Less than £35 for lunch for 4. It isn't fine dining but it's certainly a good place for a pleasant and unhurried lunch.

Hard to fault this charming little place. Nestled in a alleyway just off the sea front, it's the perfect little hideaway. We had paella which was utterly brilliant. The prawns were some of the best I've had! To go with it we thought we'd sample the cocktails. I'd highly recommend it! I had a vodka martini but only because I... More

Booked a table for dinner, lovely little restaurant with bags of character, greeted by the owner very welcoming and nothing to much trouble, we had cocktails with olives and selection of artesian breads, followed by the most amazing tapas. Great selection of food and puddings to finish we will be back. Don't miss a table at this little gem.

We sought out this cafe based upon the recent excellent reviews on Trip Advisor, but I am very sorry to report that neither the 'welcome', service nor food was up to expectations. The cafe was staffed with young girls who would clearly have preferred to be almost anywhere else. We ordered an afternoon cream tea for two, not cheap at... More

Great homemade scones in a great value cream tea. A warm welcome from the staff, and a homely atmosphere makes Velvet and Vanilla well worth seeking out when in Bideford
