Went there for a family meal. The main pub has a nice sea faring vibe but the bit by the carvery is soulless. We all ordered the 'basil and tomato' soup with crusty bread. The soup had no hint of basil and tasted like tinned tomato, the crusty bread was the frozen bake it yourself type. I had the beef... More

Anyone going out to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or special occasion always hopes that the place they choose to go for a meal doesn't spoil the occasion. So we were delighted with our family meal out for a birthday which was everything we could have hoped for at a very reasonable price. The Spice Ship is set towards the bottom... More

Having had a lovely day on the way home from Portland, I was looking for a dog friendly place to have lunch. We came across the spice ship. On arrival it came to us that this was a locals pub with dogs off their leads (I like that). there was a large party having food so we thought our luck... More

Have visited the spice on a number of occasions, always friendly banter around the bar, good food when wanted, sport on the TV, what more do you want when sipping the best pint of Guinness in Weymouth. Top pub, top landlady!

I had heard about the Spice Ship and decided to have lunch there after a walk and get the bus back to Weymouth. We shared a portion of the mussels as a starter - fantastic, although lots of cream which is nice. My partner had the salmon which was very good, I had the ham - would have been nice... More

My wife and I recently stayed at the Spice ship, it was fantastic, it is a proper pub with friendly locals and bar staff, the food is excellent, and reasonably priced, the pub and accommodation were spotlessly clean, I cannot fault it and highly recommend it, brilliant base to explore the surrounding area from.

Had a very nice carvery today at reasonable cost too! Nice traditional pub with friendly, helpful staff. Didn't take my dog on this occasion but will do next visit.

Just spot on in every aspect of great food and hospitality. To be honest it just does not get any better for Pub Dining! Phenominal Roast, friendly and professional kitchen and service staff equipped with name recognition and a memory for your beverage and food choice. We love it, my mother has lived locally in Osmington for 40 years and... More
