I was one of a party of eight on a Monday evening, a mix of Brits & Italians. We waited a long time for drinks and food, we were there for an hour and a half before our meals arrived. Service was a bit amateur but friendly. A good selection of beer and a reasonable wine list. I was with... More

Excellent customer service by the front of house staff and as always a beautifully carvery lunch with great alternative choices for our one vegetarian. Good beer choices, a warm welcome and great food - everything you want from a proper British pub.

We've just recently moved to Sutton Poyntz and thought we'd try the local pub. We're glad we did! We had the soup and cheesy chips and it didn't disappoint! The lady who took our order at our table was very friendly. The "shabby chic" decor of the interior of the pub was lovely and the open fire was just the... More

I often go to a pub for a carvery near Honiton (see other reviews) and never thought I'd find anywhere as good, until now. The pub is stunning, the staff are generally lovely, and food was absolutely epic. I genuinely cannot wait to return. You'll need to book, as it's very popular - I found out to my own disappointment!... More

I had stopped eating at the Springhead as the standard of the food had really slipped, and the waiting times were long. I visited a couple of days ago and the food is now superb! I don't know if they have a new chef, but whatever the change is, I hope they keep it up. Had the BEST veggie lasagne... More

Great setting. Waiting staff 10/10. Bar 10/10. I ordered the luxury fish pie. By far the worst fish pie I have ever had anywhere ( and i've had a few) Basically 1 "type" of tough white fish in white water. Others in my party rated their foodbetem 3 & 7 out of 10.

What a delight to visit after a walk along the coast. The staff were genuinely friendly and made us welcomed. Loved the roaring fire and deco. The lunch were tasty, of generous portions and well presented. You can even treat your dog to a sausage. Ours couldn't believe his luck and enjoyed his very much. May this lovely pub, up... More

Having been staying locally and doing several walking "events" with the dog this was pure pleasure to stumble across post several large cow poops and a wet foot - hugely welcoming with a Dog menu and Dog beer - a very happy crowd indeed.... The lunch blew us away both in size and taste and our return walk took rather... More

Literally cannot speak highly enough about this restaurant, we visited after seeing other reviews and it was only a mile from where we are staying on holiday. The atmosphere and decor was just so inviting, homely and friendly. The staff also couldn't have been nicer. The food was delicious, my partner had the steak and I am a vegetarian and... More
