We were staying on a Friday night in Weymouth and looking for somewhere we could have a drink and something to eat (preferably in that order) when we stumbled across the Red Lion. Jagged a seat near the bar and sat back and had a few pints and then ordered a cracking seafood trawler board for two with prawns, mackerel,... More

Heard about the vast range of rums, decided it was worth testing. Over 100 different rums available, with a "rum bible" available to help guide you through making your drink choice. Excellent service, very friendly & helpful. Well worth checking out if you're a fan of rum.

First came here four years ago, (we live in Norfolk) originally just for a drink until we saw the plates of mussels coming out of the kitchen! Our return this year meant having The Red Lion on our to do list. They didn't disappoint. We arrived at 12 to make sure we got a table, the manager said we'd have... More

in winter this quaint pub is cosy and good food - in Summer you can sit outside and enjoy the many local bands

We had a fun night thanks to our friends but it was really terrible food I am afraid. Uncooked "batter" on a chicken escalope - with unseasoned meat. Very grainy chocolate mousse. Even the cheese was dull. Fortunately the landlord is such a bundle of joy (not). It is a very good pub in a great location but if you... More

Refused service by the unhappy manager, odd really as we always go out for a few beers and some pub games in between Christmas and New Year (hence Inbetweeners) never ever had any problems until today. Goodness me mr landlord, lighten up we're all around our 50's and absolutely no trouble, sadly your loss. We were welcomed with open arms... More

I kindly left my wife here whilst I went and got a little soggy playing with my Weymouth Rowing Club friends. On my return we had a lovely pint of DBC Jurassic Ale and a sandwich. The wife went for fishfinger and I went for cheese and pickle, both of which were lovely! The staff in The Red Lion are... More

Lovely pub, shame about the moody landlady! Got the fire going by putting a couple of pieces of kindling onto the dying embers, but instead of being congratulated, the landlady (must have had a heavy weekend) we were told off for wasting it! How not to make people feel welcome... See above!
