Lovely place for a pit stop. Nice cake and Costa coffee. Near the park, car parks and lake. In middle of roadworks at the moment but hopefully they will be finished for the summer! Clean customer toilet.

Tried both homemade soups however neither in the terrific category. They were okay but on the whole we were disappointed in the quality.

We stopped in for a quick lunch on a cold day and found the cafe warm and inviting. Deliciously soft brie and cranberry panini and warming leek and potato soup. Very reasonable prices too, particularly considering the location.

Hi samantha, Thank you for your kind comments. Please introduce yourself next time you are in the cafe. We do try hard to be welcoming and to make the atmosphere cozy in cold weather and relaxing when it is warm. More

We have been to The Old Pump House many times for coffee and cake and have always been served by friendly and efficient staff. The carrot cake is lovely, light, moist and is locally made and the coffee is very good. One advantage is that dogs are welcome...however, we like to sit outside with our dog whenever possible to enjoy... More

Dear Diane, thank you for your kind comments. The carrot cake and coffee are both locally sourced. Of course dogs are welcome, they are part of the family and we are a family cafe. Do say hello next time you are in. More

Thank you for your kind words. This is very helpful as we are trying hard to give our customers a pleasant and happy experience when visiting the cafe and the feedback lets me know we are doing some things right. Thanks More

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to review us. I am trying very hard to make this a pleasing experience for visitors. Like the posh restaurants and hotels, all our food is as fresh as possible each day. Do call again and say hello next time. More

Came here for a stop off and bite to eat. We originally wanted the soup but it was chicken and veg, which we did not fancy, so we went with a sandwich instead. Although the bread roll was delicious, it was spread with a very thin layer of margarine. My cheese salad sandwich, was a cheese slice with thick chunky... More

Nice little stop off by the glebe with very nice cakes. Dog friendly and outside seating, which is a plus on a decent day. Prices were fairly reasonable considering location.

Thank you for your kind review. Our cakes are homemade by Debbie at Homebakers of Grasmere. All our suppliers are local. We appreciate that dogs are part of the family and they are always welcome here. More
