We popped in simply because everywhere else was packed and what a surprise. Reasonably priced drinks and food. Although it is on a main road it was incredibly quiet. The food was spot on and generous in portion size and the waitress was lovely.

Stopped off for meal, of all places around the board saying home cooked food drew us in. Only one lasagne left microwaved to within an inch of its life so outside to hard to eat, no garlic on garlic bread. My pie was nice but...More

I had steak n kidney pudding ...came with excellant chips ..peas and Julianne carrots which were obviously frozen and we're boiled not steamed , too cold, wet and flavourless. The steak n kidney pud was ok ..lots of meat and rich gravy and not bad...More

It's the usual menu for a pub. Quality was good, staff friendly enough. Very popular spot. Cute atmosphere.

Arrived at our b&b in the pouring rain and ended up at John Peel for supper. Best pie we have had ever and everything else was cooked perfectly and piping hot. Also very reasonable.

called in for a pub meal after a long drive and was met with a cheery smile and welcome. we both ordered the mixed grill and were stuffed by the end of it. everything cooked perfectly. the other food coming out looked just as good
