Stopped for lunch today and it was fantastic, the chips are amazing! Don't be put off by the outside go in and eat what a great place and lovely people.

Thank you for the lovely comment. Yes, the pub is a bit jaded on the outside (it is over 400 years old) but the food is all home made, and as you said, the chips are amazing.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great food. Great music. They made me a fab salad (i.e. not just iceberg/toms and cucumber!) and chips nearly as good as my Grandma's. And that's saying something!
