Decided to go to this Chip shop for tea as we have used it for years. Historically lovely food! Was definitely worth the travel! However something has gone drastically wrong! The fish was thin, small & cold. The chips, which I counted the whole 16...More

Most wonderful fish and chips in barnstaple. Generous portion and loved by the family, very nice and chatty staff that makes the visits even more enjoyable compared to some of the other chip shops where you are lucky to get a grunt out of the...More

We don’t have chip shop chips that often but when we do we really look forward to them. Well what can I say except what a disappointment, dry, brown and ridiculously over cooked, when did you fry them...yesterday???. Needless to say we won’t be returning...More

Not too bad, I’ve had better and I’ve had a lot worse. Pleasant staff and a small area to eat in. Plenty on my plate and it was piping hot.

Visited at the weekend for a fish super. Everything cooked fresh and big fillet of fish not greasy. Chips grand and portion huge. Reasonable price too. Next time would probably just have two fish and large chips.

The Whiddon Fryer used to do really good fish and chip supper, however however the past year or so it's gone really down hill. Tonight I got a portion of chips and a battered sausage to take away and when getting home, I bit into...More

I am sorry that this is your experience. I am interested in your comment regarding the Sausage, our sausages do contain chicken which can appear, when cooked, to be pink. All of our food is probed for temperature and it is a policy not to...More
