visited on 1.12.2016, this being our third visit. On this occasion plates were returned on four occasions as they were tainted by previous food residue. Food was of a good standard. This occasion the overall experience was poor.

I enjoyed a very good lunch at the Dirty Duck following a lovely walk along the shore from Helens Bay. We had a great table with an uninterrupted view across the Lough. The menu is extensive and offers a choice of dishes to suit those who like a substantial meal and those who prefer a smaller portion. The sharing seafood... More

Called in. Great view of the loch. Been here a few times and will always go back. We had the special, minute steak, ciabatta, chips, pepper sauce. £10. You can't go wrong. It was very tasty and a great price. The menu is extensive and has much more than the usual run of the mill stuff. Makes me want to... More

What's not to like great spot for food and craic, upstairs great view of Belfast Lough and all the shipping that passes, planes as they come into land at George Best airport and Bangor train heading for Belfast. Great winter food and good choice of menu, Squires Smoker is wife's favourite but I am killed for choice, downstairs more homely... More

Visited last wknd for lunch- book a table if you're thinking about going. The view is really nice in sunny day.. Decent food portions but chips we had were bit old looking you can actually see black bits in few chips which I think shouldn't happen.. But overall good I would go back for a wee lunch.. But don't be... More

We booked a table for two by the window of the DD over looking the beautiful serine Belfast Lough. The view was calming and very picturesque. The Staff were helpful and attentive, but thankfully not overly so. The Menus was very good and varied with plenty of options for Vegetarians & Meat eaters alike. For Starters we both had, Streaky... I had heard a lot of good reports about The Dirty Duck. Service was good as was the food. There are a few gluten free options clearly marked on the menu but a few more options would be great as personally I found the choice to be quite limited. The music in the restaurant was too loud for my liking... More

Several visits here for fish and chips and real ale examples as Whitstable Bay and Spitfire. Lots of other seafood menu choices and live rugby matches are visible on three T.v screens. It's very popular for food so at peak times there can be a short wait for a table and lunch in the main restaurant may need booking a... More
