Called in for brunch as attracted by the name in a town of unknowns. Food is delicious and grease free, lovely quality food, well cooked. Yes a little noisy but nice to see a cage that welcomes and caters for families. Highly recommended!

Was really pleased with options of gluten free sandwiches for my son but the prices in here are crazy. 4.50 for my other son's one piece of toast, bacon and sausage was particularly galling. Nearly 7 pounds for said sandwich! Pity as would go back regularly if not so Dick Turpin-like!

I used to visit Homebird regularly with family or friends for breakfast or for the cafe's fantastic scones but after 3 consecutive disappointing experiences I now go elsewhere. Some staff members are inefficient, slow to serve and at times quite ignorant - not great for paying customers! Also the level of noise at times can be quite deafening as the... More

Visited the Homebird Café during a not so busy afternoon mid-week. Having only called in for coffee, we couldn't resist the urge to try some scones with butter & jam. Firstly the scones...one plain & one orange & almond...both were baked beautifully & ample in size. However, the orange & almond scone lacked a strong flavor...(I was hoping for the... More

Very expensive and underwhelming Ulster Fry. Limp translucent undercooked bacon, fried eggs that contained shell and what looked liked cooked blood. Stale wheaten bread and luke warm tea and all for just under £8.00!! What?? Like many eateries in this area - I don't think the owner is a chef or has much of a clue about basic minimum catering... HomeBird is always busy as it is a very popular Bistro in the town. Sometimes you do have to wait to be seated but it is well worth the wait. There is a kiddie play area towards the back of the establishment which is great for mums and dads to get peace to eat.The food is always good especially the... More

The service was attentive, but not intrusive, Excellent choice of well-prepared food. No loud music to compete with our conversation (increasingly rare these days). Wish the proprietors and staff every success in the days to come.

Called in with a friend who I haven't seen in a long time. It was quite busy with a decent atmosphere. Initial greeting (!) from a grumpy waiter not impressive. He couldn't care less and seemed surprised and a little out out that we wanted a menu. Ordered a couple of coffees and a bacon bagel. Coffee cold and too... More

Gave the cafe another try and despite being specific about my expectations coffee was a bitter disappointment. Why can't cafes make decent cappuccinos? If I had wanted a lukewarm latte then that's what I wouldn't have ordered. Unfortunately it's a pass for me on the coffee front. That said, it's a lovely cafe with a busy clientele. Menu is casual... Have ate here a number of times for breakfast. Have tried most things on the menu and I have been very impressed by everything, pancakes and eggs benedict are incredible. Excellent service and great prices. Highly recommended
