Second time we have been here, the first was fantastic - this time however my main course (turbot) was oily & tasted like a chip shop fried fish with a very conflicting orange and fennel croquet & overly mustardy leek fricassee. I told the waitress...More

A 30 seats restaurant withi lightwood furniture, "well thought" lights and maritime features that create a classy and pleasant environment. The menu is creative and manages to combine locally sourced seafood with the british cuisine in many interesting ways. My partner had the queenies pancakes:...More

We booked a table online a few days in advance as we had seen from previous reviews that this restaurant was busy. We were greeted by a friendly young lady (probably the manager that evening) who seated us at our table adjacent to the open...More

I loved this quaint little place in the heart of Douglas. The service was very warm and the ~10 table layout along with the open kitchen made for a homely feel. I had the pancake to start, made with manx cheese and queenies. My main...More

A visit to Tanroagan is a must when you visit the Isle of Man. Wonderful food served by friendly staff in superb surroundings. Booking is very necessary. Both the fish pie and the grilled plaice from the 'specials' board were a delight.

One of my favourite places along with their other restaurant in Peel (The Boatyard). Food is always so fresh, great choice and brilliant service. They made it a really special birthday for one of our group. We'll definitely be back.

I love the atmosphere and querky rustic decoration. The food is top quality and you can see the chefs cooking everything to order. 100% fresh and very tasty. Only down point is they run out of lobster every time we go!! Its very popular.

Not that I'm aware of although they like you to be smartly dressed at weekends.
Sir - having chosen to besmirch my character on this website and lied about our correspondence (my letter to you was dated and sent 13 Sep - accept I got the date wrong in my posting) - so please provide details of your advocate to allow my solicitor to pursue your perverse statements through the courts. I am neither 'rude' nor 'condescending' and what you describe as a 'tirade' was a fair report of the food that your team/suppliers provided - I still shudder at the memory of at least 3 instances of approx 2.5 inch long by 1/2 inch wide pieces of crab shell in the 'coriander' soup - life-threatening to be sure. Your mother's misaddressed e-mail was OK by me and whilst some of the points were unusual (e.g. to engage with your suppliers directly) it offered a £50 voucher which if we determined we'd ever revisit the IoM and your restaurant we would have taken up (neither of these appeals to us). Judging from your responses to other 'negative' reviews on this site you are a rude and uncaring provender that deserves no happy clients. Your suggestion that we should have returned to discuss our 'niggles' was absurd - we were on holiday and not minded to return/waste time on Tanroagan engagement. John
