Nothing to dislike. One of the finest places I have eaten, worthy of the great reviews.

We had a delicious meal, well proportioned portions of beutifully and simply presented food. The fish is the business and it shows in the cooking.

Super cooking, very fresh produce. A cut above anything else on the Isle of Man at a good price. Book well ahead as it is a small dining area.

Altho we have not dined everywhere on the Isle of Man - Tanroagan seems to have a solid claim on its reputation as offering the best food around - certainly excellent local sourced seafood. Our party of four had starters of crab soup, queenie fritters,...More

We took a party of four here on Monday night. Food was exceptionally good. Service was good although our waitress was somewhat distracted by another god looking male customer. I had bass cooked with lime and chilli with great veg, My partner had hake with...More

As we found out, it's essential to book and, having failed to get a dinner reservation, we had an excellent lunch at Tanroagan (Manx for 'scallops' according to our taxi driver). Starters included a fantastic goats cheese souffle and a local octopus and chorizo stew...More

On the island on business and thought i'd try re-visit to see if the place was as good as my last visit in June 2011. It was. Fantastic food, great wine (the cheeky English white from Oxfordshire is well worth a try). I thought i'd...More

We booked an early table (18.30) to celebrate our arrival in Douglas. A bright (if somewhat cold) interior offered a clear view of the kitchen and a warm welcome. Freshly-baked speciality breads with balsamic vinegar & oil, butter and sea salt provided the perfect entree...More

Sir - having chosen to besmirch my character on this website and lied about our correspondence (my letter to you was dated and sent 13 Sep - accept I got the date wrong in my posting) - so please provide details of your advocate to allow my solicitor to pursue your perverse statements through the courts. I am neither 'rude' nor 'condescending' and what you describe as a 'tirade' was a fair report of the food that your team/suppliers provided - I still shudder at the memory of at least 3 instances of approx 2.5 inch long by 1/2 inch wide pieces of crab shell in the 'coriander' soup - life-threatening to be sure. Your mother's misaddressed e-mail was OK by me and whilst some of the points were unusual (e.g. to engage with your suppliers directly) it offered a £50 voucher which if we determined we'd ever revisit the IoM and your restaurant we would have taken up (neither of these appeals to us). Judging from your responses to other 'negative' reviews on this site you are a rude and uncaring provender that deserves no happy clients. Your suggestion that we should have returned to discuss our 'niggles' was absurd - we were on holiday and not minded to return/waste time on Tanroagan engagement. John
