Visit this gem on an annual basis when I visit the island. Loved the scallops Thermidor. Goats cheese soufflé was divine. An over cooked steak was swiftly dealt with and not charged for. Baileys creme brûlée was too die for.

Very disappointing. My husband took me here for my 37th birthday and we were both expecting great things. On first impressions, things looked good - fantastic menu, good space between tables, ambient lighting; but when it got down down to the food Portifino proved itself...More

The food is okay. The dessert is lovely. But staff isn’t friendly. I would not recommend this restaurant to my friend.

The owner Mario is a charmer and great for front of house and all backed up by his attentive staff, however, no matter how much they shine you simply cannot ignore the fact that the chef is either out of his depth or has just...More

Description
Portofino was opened at 18:15 on the 19th November 2010, as the Island's most prestigious Mediterranean and International restaurant. Dominating the Quay West development, centrally located in the Isle of Man's capital Douglas, Portofino enjoys spectacular views overlooking the marina, with activity of the street outside, visible through floor to ceiling windows. The grill, fish, poultry, meat and vegetables are prepared in full view of diners at the surrounding kitchen. During summer, outside tables are available for dinning. Portafino's interior was designed by Sicilian owner Mario Ciapelli. Its interior is complemented by high-back leather chairs, a modern cocktail serving bar and contemporary lighting throughout to provide a luxury and modern yet comfortable enviroment for diners. The restaurant also provides diners with the option to book the Xander Suite, a private dining room which can accommodate up to 30 guests.
