Having been a number of times before usually found the food to be fine and ordered the fish and chunky chips. The fish was served followed by the chips several minutes later. The chips must certainly were not chunky nor was it appreciated them being served after the fish. How hard is it to get the food timings right especially as... More

We decided to go to Wolsey's for a reasonably priced spontaneous meal out. The waitress that seated us sounded bored and uninterested. When we had ordered drinks, my partner noticed that his cutlery was dirty and had to ask for it to be replaced, so things weren't off to a good start. We ordered starters - Breaded brie and the... Having heard of Wolsey's from general word of mouth around Bangor, and having heard that the owner of the Merchant was somehow involved.. I decided to check this place out for a meal. ATMOSPHERE/ STAFF: The place looks very dated. Staff are quite friendly. However, the chef was repeatedly shouting "Service Please" and could be heard very clearly in the... More

Why, oh why have I not been here before? Six of us decided last minute to grab a bite to eat and we found this gem of restaurant. I had always heard about Wolseys but had never been. And what an excellent meal we had! We had three rambunctious five year olds with us and we didn't feel like we... More

Really pleased with our meal - steak cooked to perfection. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, able to see into the kitchen while we waited. Definitely will go back

We had lunch this week at wolsey's with my brother who has just arrived home from America. We hadn't been here for 30 years so thought it would be nostalgic to visit. I ordered a coffee which was lukewarm and a coke for my brother. The bar was half full and getting busier as we waited for our meal. We... More

Went here with my friend for lunch was served by Stephen who was a delight and offered fantastic service. The meals were delicious and the portions were large. Our server was attentive and friendly without being overbearing and was always willing to help with anything we wanted. I would highly recommend Wolsey's especially with their I heart Wolsey's card which... More

Went here for lunch with one of my buddies. Really disappointing. Service was slow, even though place was really quiet. We had burgers and chips, can't really mess that up?! The burger was tiny, flavourless and dry. It sat on a bun that was poor and the chips tasted frozen. Would have been better going to Tesco and buying a... More

Description
Refurbished in 2012, Wolsey's is seen by many as one of Bangors best bars. Comfortable and relaxed surroundings ensure all who dine with us do so with ease and content. Head Chef Peter Harrison has created a menu that has something for everyone, and you certainly won't be disappointed! Chef Peter is well known for unrivalled steaks, burgers and seafood dishes, whilst still delivering home comforts such as lasagne and goujons, hearty soups and hand cut chips. Our produce is sourced locally from our free range eggs from Barr Eggs to our meat sourced from Mawhinneys Butchers of Bangor. We believe in strengthening our relationship with local suppliers to enhance our contribution to the economy, and we can guarantee that each of our delicious dishes will have been created from the freshest of ingredients.
