The first time we saw this bakery was back in June of 2014. We were headed out to the coast, on a bit of a camping holiday. We had heard of this place from my son, Peter, who said they sold the best ryebread, ever....He was working out here and told us the bread was so good, that he bought six loaves of it to take back home. He was right by the way. This time it was my buddy Kim and I, on our way to do some fishing in the Terrace area. The Number 16 taking us through New Hazelton, right by the Skeena Bakery. Of course, we had to stop in for a least a coffee and one of their delicious baked goods! Things hadn't changed much, different folks at the front, but it seems to be still under the same owners. There are many different bread types to be had here and there seems to daily specials featuring different breads every week. This is an establishment which you have to stop at each time you drive by. We, of course, did this on our return journey. We had our treats and stocked up on some delicious bread. This area by the way is "pretty" magnificent. Hang a right on Highway 62, and take a short drive, pretty spectacular!More

The baking and food made here is soooo good. I recommend the chocolate buns, eclairs, pretzels, really anything on display. Everything is made fresh that day or week. Also that they hire people who might not be able to work at many places, is an...added plus, great group of staff who are friendly and fun to hang out with. It is a really cozy place if you want to sit with a friend for a chat. Seating for a warm summer day outside. Just a great place overall.More

A nice little family run bakery. Excellent selection and friendly staff. A few tables to sit and have a coffee or baked good or an offering of a daily lunch special. Really nice.

Couldn't help but stop as many times as possible for locally baked loaves of bread, buns and the odd butter tart not forgetting the sticky buns. Coffee on tap and refills available as a welcome sight.

Excellent place to eat, meet & enjoy! Very tasty specialty breads. Soup & a fresh bun $5.00! Easy stop right on the highway with plenty of parking. Great little outdoor tables facing the mountain. Wrapped cookies and fresh baking to choose from. And it’s hard...to be sad when you’re eating a cookie.More

Nice place to have a chat over coffee as you snack on a bakery treat like a cookie or piece of cake. Friendly staff will have you coming back for more if the quality of the food doesn't. Good selection of breads for purchase and...they take customised orders as well. Stop in next time you are in town. Located on main drag.More

I love the fresh bread and cheese buns at Skeena Bakery. I also get there as early in the morning as I can for their sausage rolls or they are all gone. Skeena bakery employs local people with disabilities. The service is warm and friendly....The parking is good and it's on Hwy. 16 running through New Hazelton. When I travel early I always stop for a bite and good cup of coffee for the road.More

I can’t say enough good things about this place. They have a surprisingly excellent selection of fresh baked goods that would win high praise in the biggest of cities. I always make a point to stop in when I can. Additionally, the business operates as...a social enterprise, providing job training, etc.More

New Hazelton was a quick overnight stop for us, so having this bakery close to our motel to grab some treats from in the morning before continuing on our road trip was nice. Everything smelled and looked amazing it was difficult to restrain ourselves from...taking a couple of everything! We really enjoyed the ginger molasses cookies, but also had several of the scones (cranberry, chocolate chip and raisin) which were also very yummy!More
