The views in front of the inn mad it's worth a visit. Food wise, my friends and I got a pie (Steak & Ale) and Ribeye steak for dinner. The pie was good, but the steak was ok just. The cut of steak was a bit thin to my like and it made medium-rate less juicy.

Good food, good atmosphere, well kept beer. The place has been substantially the same for generations. A lovely respite from modern life.

This pub is in a great location with views across several counties so high up is it. The food is to die for with a lot of variety and well served for the vegetarian. Great beer and a good variety of wines. They do have accommodation. When it's cold there is a roaring fire really cosy a vert traditional place

The food is ok, kind of standard pub grub. Service ok. Views are stunning. Probably better to eat off specials board.

Close to Underleigh House (15 mins). Attractive, comfortable and good food. Large portions so beware! Beautiful views.

Firstly the good points- the food was great, I had steak and ale pie and my partner had a sandwich. The pie was excellent, the steak very tender and the gravy was extremely tasty. The sandwich was also very good, the bread was delicious and the filling (brie and cranberry) was perfect. The staff were friendly and attentive and the... More

They accommodated 13 and 2 dogs and looked after us. Very generous portions all of a quality. Simple British pub grub done very well. They also keep good beer. The view across the valley is wonderful.

The Barrel is one of our local haunts and we regularly come here for good pub food. Large portions mean you never leave here hungry and the quality is consistently good. Service is fine, though less consistent.

We visited the Barrell mid-way through a cycle ride from Bakewell. It is located on a ridge and has awesome views towards Edale on one side and towards Bakewell on the other. The food was really good, with a good choice of lunch-time menu - from sandwiches ride through to 3-course meals (inc. Sunday Lunch). A good range of well... More
