My husband and I traveled to Beesands because my great-grandparents lived and owned/ran a pub in the late 1890s. We saw The Cricket Inn and decided to have lunch. As we entered the pub, I saw a photo of The Kings Arms, my great-grandfather's pub on the rafters. The host said the pub closed in the early 1900s, that it... More
I have eaten at The Cricket Inn on a number of occasions in the last couple of months. Wether it has been two of us or seven of us to eat service has been excellent and the food has always been beautiful in presentation and taste. Sunday lunch is one of the best I have ever had,go for the pork.Worth... More
We stayed here and also ate here for 2 nights at the beginning of November. It is a warm welcoming hotel/restaurant/bar with wonderful, helpful, friendly staff. We chose fish (John Dory) the first night and fish pie the second night. The John Dory was cooked to perfection (something that so many pubs and even upmarket restaurants don't seem to get... More

An excellent early evening dinner at this fine country pub. We were walking the South West Coastal Path and were recommended to sample The Cricket Inn. Friendly, efficient service and we enjoyed delicious hake for our main courses. Decent range of ales and wine and a generally sound menu. A running video show informs visitors about the fascinating history of... More

Having booked the Cricket Inn restaurant for the first night on our two night night stay in Devon, we had such a great meal and evening we took a chance on not booking & returned for the second evening. Both meals were absolutely delicious, the pub itself as welcoming & stylish a ever and the staff friendly and efficient. A... More

We dropped in on a slightly damp day and were instantly welcomed, and given a table that was great for both of us, and our dog. The dog settled with the treats given to him, and our treats came later. The food was piping hot and really well cooked and presented. The staff were professional but friendly and keen to... More

We were staying yards away from this well run pub restaurant so very lucky that the food matched up to its reputation ,although quite pricey.Reserving a table earlier on a Sunday is essential as your favourite meat might well have run out as was our food order.Second choice not so good and very small portion of meat.
Thank you for your review, we are pleased that you enjoyed your Sunday Lunch, however, I am sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with the portion of meat. More
It was worth making our way through the Devon lanes to Beesands and The Cricket Inn which has great views of the coast and Start Point coupled with the all that's great in an English Pub - atmosphere, good beer and food. If you are not too hungry a Starter with some chips is sufficient washed down by one of... More

I read that this is a mainly seafood restaurant but do they do other non-shellfish food as sadly I'm allergic to prawns, scallops and the like. I'm staying in Hallsands for a week in May/June so would be good to know there's somewhere within walking distance to have dinner, as long as I don't fall off the cliff on the way back!
