We went with a group to celebrate the 60th birthday of a man who loves meat. I was apprehensive as I'm fussy about my meat and I don't like huge meals. I was pleasantly surprised. I had the eye fillet, medium rare. I got what I wanted - perfectly cooked meat. The salads were to share. One of our group... More

I like this restaurant, my son loves the is restaurant. My dog loved the bone from my wing rib that I saved for him. We're all blokes. The ambience has a 'bank' theme and a bit of a 1980s feel. The steak is well priced considering the size and quality, it's cooked to perfection. Blue means blue, not rare :)... More

As usual, chef John puts on well aged steak and entrees. Always a laugh upon entry and plenty of dry humor thorough the huge meal(s). Thanks again.

Came with my kids. Staff extremely friendly and accomodating. Food was tasty and serves are massive. They really know how to cook a great steak. There was even something for my fish eating husband! We will be back.

The place has better then average steaks. Nice selection of steaks. The service was good. Maybe the people serving could have had more knowledge of steak.

Unless you know what a first class steak is this is not the place to go. We were overseas visitors and were taken there by friends who are regulars there. Forget the menu. Talk to the owner and he will make sure you will not be disappointed. Ordered a huge steak and wanted an entrée first. Was assured that if... More

The meat, the chips, the salad and the interesting wine list make this place a Melbourne "must visit". You visit here for the food - steak perfectly cooked and presented, exactly as your order and cooked by Chef Phil. May it ever continue!

A local gem for us that offers great steak cooked to perfection and very well prepared entrees of calves liver and cevapcici. We have visited twice now and found the staff friendly and informative and the steaks of excellent quality and cooked exactly the way they were ordered and as a bonus, chips that were fresh, crisp and hot to... Yes the premises are dated. Yes the decorations are kitsch. Yes its unchanged over the last three decades. But . . . it's all about the meat! There are entrees, but why bother? . . . it's all about the meat! I was able to choose the particular piece of meat that I wanted - an aged New York Porterhouse.... More

For a great steak this is the best in the SE. Cooked to your liking and a wide choice of cuts. The ribs are also big and great. On the down side a shame all the sides are an extra and although BYO they hold a good cellar of both whites and reds
