We decided to give this place a second chance as we had seen an advert in the Central Brittany Journal that there was live music by the Rhythm Buddies every Thursday evening in August. We booked a table, but were not told that there wasn't...any live music! Why advertise 'live music every Thursday evening throughout August' if it's not correct. Despite this, we had a pretty good meal, much better than our last experience here. The service was really good with a really pleasant English waiter. The wine is still incredibly overpriced, so stick to beer.More

We had a delicious meal in Pont Calleck. Tremendous value for the quality of food and a very good kids menu where they could try some interesting dishes. We chose the set menu (€30), with no choices bar dessert. After a delicious amuse bouche, one...of the best steak tartare dishes I have ever had arrived. Kids loved this too. Main was a delicious piece of cod, wrapped in chorizo on a perfect bed of saffron risotto, with a fab nectarine crumble for dessert. Its really the perfect rural Auberge, with space to play outside.More

Myself and my partner booked a table here for a Saturday evening. We arrived on our motorbikes. The waiter stood looking at us with contempt as they clearly don't like motorbikes! When we took our helmets off, he saw that we were two middle-aged women....We were shown to a table in the corner, out of sight of other diners - perhaps an allergy to bikers or a same-sex couple? Who knows? We didn't have a started, but both had over-priced steaks, which were very average for the price. We've had better steak-frites in local bars! 19€ for a half bottle of wine - ridiculous! We had heard mixed reports about this restaurant, but we now have our own opinion.More

We count this restaurant as one of our favourites. We are somewhat perplexed by the negative reviews and feel qualified to comment as we have eaten at this restaurant on many occasions: Ad hoc lunches; evening soirées and an excellent, pre-organised goumet meal for a...large group. Our experience is one of complete satifisfaction with high class cuisine at a reasonable price. This restaurant is an asset to the region. If you are looking for a “boy-filler” meal, then this is not for you. However, if you appreciate true quality cooking, in a wonderful location, do not hesitate to book a table.More

Fantastic setting by the river. Really upmarket food served by attentive waitress. A little expensive for what is served, but I suppose you have to pay for the location. The wine selection is good but expensive.

We went here with friends to an advertised soiree with live music and food from a rotisserie. We chose to have the advertised plate of charcuterie as a starter at 8€ a plate...it consisted of 3 tiny slices of saucisson and 2 tiny morsels of...paté...hardy enough to feed a mouse. Shockingly expensive for what it was and just dumped on a normal plate with no garnish or effort. The rotisserie course as OK, but small as well. The biggest problem was that when we asked for the bill, they had added on a 45€ bottle of wine, which we hadn't had. If we hadn't been paying attention we could have ended up paying. Really slow service too. All in all....not recommended....poor value. You can find better served and presented food in local ouvrier restaurants....at a quarter of the price.More

We ate here twice while staying nearby (Couetilliec Cottages/Brittany Cycle Tours). Our boys were made welcome with a child friendly (but still good cooking) 'Menu Enfant' (€12) and we chose from the delicious 'Terroir' & 'Gourmand' set menus offering a small selection of perfectly prepared...meat fish and vegetarian dishes. 3 courses each plus half bottle wine €125) They have a kitchen garden by the river, pigs in the forest and the view is green & leafy. Don't forget your French dictionary. Bon Appetit!More

In July 2016 my wife and I went to this restaurant, the location is wonderful, one can sit by a river in the shade on a hot sunny day and drink a little wine and just relax. We decided to have a little something to...eat, but as we had planned a large meal in the evening we just wanted to have a snack. We had eaten at this restaurant before and so we were a little wary of the portion sizes which to be fair wouldn't feed an undersized dwarf but we thought let's give it one more try, and see if they had improved on the portions. We each asked for the cheese dish which was priced at Euro9 and we asked for a carafe of wine, the restaurant only sells wine by the glass or a bottle which costs an arm and a leg, so I asked for two glasses of red wine. The cheese tuned up which consisted of three shavings of cheese on each plate plus a salad leaf. Each of the pieces of cheese had rind on them, by the time that had been removed we were left with three postage stamp pieces of cheese, not only an insult but a complete and utter rip off for the money. Far from improving on the portions it seems this restaurant has reduced them yet again. Please take my advice if you want next to nothing to eat at about Euro35 to 45 per head for the prix fixe excluding wine try the place out. I doubt whether you'll ever do it again! Needless to say we refused the cheese plate, paid and left, and we shan't be going back again.More

We were so surprised. Our expectations were not too high. But we were so happy to have taken the trip to this off-the-road restaurant. Our dinner was delicious. The chef would more than hold his own in midtown manhattan. The grounds are beautiful. The views...from the dining room are so rustic and incredibly "Bretagne". The only downside would be the stark white dining room. But overall, we left with buying a €100 Gift card for our family to enjoy when we leave. Thumbs up!!!!!More

Once again the team at the Auberge de Pont Calleck have produced a memorable birthday meal. everything was faultless and matched previous experienced high standards. the lunch menu represents fantastic value, with coffee and drinks priced sensibly, and of course the setting by the river,...currently running fast and high, was a delight.
