A very nice village pub, with a good menu choice, at good prices, we've visited on a couple of occasions for lunch and found the owners to be very pleasant and helpful, our last visit was a few days ago and as it was a little chilly out it would have been nice to see the fire burning and maybe... We came here for a meal whilst visiting the area... I Couldn't recommend it enough all of our meals were delicious... And the portion size was good... Sometimes I feel you get to much and feel like you don't want to waste it so shovel it down.. 🐷 but this was a great portion size... Great choice of puddings to...... More

We ate here while staying locally. The pub is lovely inside, well kept and welcoming. Service was friendly and efficient. The menu isn't huge, but what they serve is good pub food, very nicely cooked (including the veg), really tasty, large portions and all served piping hot. Can recommend the sausage and mash, with local sausages from the village butchers,... More

When I said return visit it was 25 years ago. It must have left an impression then as I remembered exactly where it was and the name. It had a cyclist connection then and today was just the same. We called in returning from a trip along the North Kent coast after seeing the sign for Doddington off of the... More

During our stay in Kent we visited the Chequers on a number of occasions and really enjoyed every meal. The staff and owner are really friendly. I would highly recommend a visit for anyone staying in the area.

I absolutely adore this pub, I've eaten here 5 times in the last year! The food is amazing and the portions are more than generous. The crispy melted Brie starter is a must. There's a great selection for vegetarians too. The staff are diligent and super friendly. Great for families and couples; I highly recommend this place to everyone.

First visit and we were very impressed on the menu choices and how tasty the sunday lunch was! My husband is vegetarian and they even had choices for him as part of the roast, plus had a safe garden with swing and slides which kept the little one entertained!!

The food was very good and the service was great. They did their best to make us welcome and cater for all requests. Very enjoyable experience. would definitely go again. I had tuna Baguette which came with chips & salad and it was huge but very welcome. I did not have a dessert but they looked fabulous.

Called on a Monday for a quick lunch. Very pleasant staff. Slightly old fashioned furnishings. Food menu, typical pub with a couple of surprises. Portions excellent. The two course menu for £10 looks good value.

Thank you for taking the time to review, but I just need to clarify a couple of points, in order that it doesn't lead to confusion. We don't actually open on a Monday lunchtime. We do have a 2 courses for £10 menu, which runs lunchtimes Tuesday to Friday. I'm glad you found the staff pleasant, and the portions excellent,... More
