Really enjoyed Afternoon tea today. Friendly staff happy to accommodate our request for different fillings for sandwiches. Everything was fresh, lovely choice of cakes, bread rolls were different but tasty. Plenty of tea and coffee. Having tried out plenty of cream teas we can say that is the best we have tried. Will return for another visit soon

Thank marleneb230

Hi marleneb230, we're so please you enjoyed your afternoon tea. We make everything ourselves in our kitchen, absolutely nothing is bought in. The rolls are new and I was nervous but our chef makes them so light and with subtle flavours to compliment the fillings they are a real winner! We are looking forward to welcoming you again! Best wishes... More

Came here with a gift voucher for an afternoon tea which was a birthday present. Thoroughly enjoyed, service was excellent as was the food. They could not do enough for us. Highly recommended! 🖒

had afternoon tea at Welcome to town, only one word to describe it Excellent! Mary Berry move over - the poppy seed scones scrumptious, pastries and scones melt in the mouth. Will recommend to all and will definitely go again.

LOL - Steve will definitely not be replacing Mary Berry but he does make exceedingly good cakes! Thanks so much for coming, it was lovely to meet you both and we hope to see you again. Best wishes Paul More

We went here for dinner on a Sunday night and even though the food was good it was a bit of a shame as quite a lot of items were off the menu. Even so, what we did have tasted very good and nicely presented and we had a lovely evening. The barman/waiter was very good and apologetic to us.... More

Hi Angela, thank you for taking time to review us and we are so sorry that our menu was a bit light. The first two weekends in March have been much, much busier than we thought they would be...... a fact I am definitely NOT complaining about! It is fantastic news that we are becoming such a popular place to... More

We decided to give this a try after a recommendation, we were not disappointed. The burger I had was large and tastey, served with fries, & colslaw on a slate. My partner had the halumi burger, served with relish & fries also. Only dislike would be the serving of food on a slate, but that's a personal preference. A quirky... More

Dear John, thanks for taking time to write a review and I hope you enjoyed the Sunday Roast! Good luck with winning the competition :-) Slates are tricky: people love them or hate them. They are really difficult to carry for waiting staff too. We'll review it. Best wishes Paul More

Having visited Welcome to Town a few times now since December 2016 the opinions of various friends and ourselves remain consistent. Lovely ambiance following sensitive updating of an old traditional pub. A quality menu with great variety and excellent service. Steve, the chef, takes great pride in all that he prepares and constantly looks for something new. So good that... More

Four of us went; had been previously in the summer when it was busy. Food was ok but downstairs was empty (never mind the upstairs dining room!) and drinks overpriced for a Gower pub- even one that claims to be a gastro pub! Car park lighting is poor.

Hi Suzanne, thanks for coming in again and taking the time to write a review. "Food was ok" - okay, thanks........ I think? "Downstairs was empty" - Yup, it's tough for us in January and February. A number of local restaurants / pubs close their doors for the whole month of January, but we stay open, trying to build regular... More

I took my daughter here for afternoon tea . We have tried afternoon tea in many different places but this has to be the worst. We were the only people eating and when the food arrived on a three tiered plate it was not inspiring. The sandwiches were all on white bread with no whole meal or granary and were... More

Good Afternoon Bethan, first thank you for taking the time to review our place and for giving us 2 stars; I am genuinely surprised you rated us that highly. Frankly, you are right, in that I was a little rude to you and my attitude was pretty poor. The truth is I was not having the best day, I was... More

Set in the beautiful village of the Welcome to town was voted by customers Swansea Life's Gastro Pub of the Year 2016/17. The Welcome has immediate access to the Wales Coastal Path and other stunning coastal and inland walks. It is only 300 yards off the main North Gower Road but wonderfully secluded with an incredible sheltered sun terrace area. We serve a snack menu, a pub menu and a sumptuous dining menu.
