Last minute call, not disappointed.My son and I for an early dinner . Opens 1900hrs just as we arrived . Staff friendly, speak English ( I feel so embarrassed that my French is well below par!!! ) . My sons pizza made freshly , he is usually fussy over the crust , but gave this a thumbs up. I went for the goat cheese salad , large, well satisfied. Started to fill up as we left approx 2000hrs, a good sign

Lovely Local Fare!

We had a lovely dinner, enjoying local duck pate and risotto with prawns and kiwi fruit- delicious! Welcoming. We sat outside under the verandah which was pleasant.

Excellent Pizzas but not only, good diner and fine menu

Nice and cheerful welcome by efficient servers. Menu gastronomique at good price for 26 € with excellent foie gras, nice piece du boucher and dessert. Pizze are really good home made with fresh and local products and great choice of toppings.

Lovely place. The vegetarian main - vegetable Wellington, can’t be recommended more highly. A lovely fusion of contemporary french and something you’d have in a high priced hipster joint in London. And who would think that a carrot panne cotta could work - my god it does, and then some. Apparently the head chef, ‘Le Chad’ is creating a name for himself in these parts.

Simply Fabulous

This was our first choice restaurant on our return to the area. The food is exceptional. We both had ravioli to start, followed by a wonderful steak. I love the bread at this restaurant too. The staff are wonderful and very accommodating of our poor french! Champagne very reasonably priced and wine excellent as you would expect. The owner always makes you feel very welcome and the overall experience is fantastic. I can’t wait to return. We love this place. Very highly recommended.

We were disappointed

We decided to try this local restaurant because the dishes looked OK To be fair the starters and dessert were fine. The local wine was good. The problem was the main courses. My steak was OK but certainly not good and the chips were very greasy. My wife's monk fish was a disaster. Frozen and then under cooked so just watery with no flavour. Her rissotto was more like a rice pudding

Not to be repeated!

We visited here on a cold Friday night in February. We didn't set out for this restaurant, but the one we intended to visit was closed. We were welcomed and shown to a table close to the serving area. When we asked if we could sit at one of the other tables further into the restaurant, we were told they were all reserved. Every time the door opened we were greeted with a draft of cold air. The ambiance in this restaurant is not - good, plastic tables and bright lights. I ordered pizza. Bland, tasteless, unimaginative, and expensive for what it was. Looking around the restaurant, there was a lot of uneaten pizza left on people's plates, and they weren't asking for it to be wrapped to take it home! Would not recommend!

The food was nice, but there was a long hair in the pizza! We told the waitress and she just said ‘ok’ and walked away!

Pleasant Surprise

We were driving to Sarlat along the local road vs. the autoroute. Being a Monday, many places to eat were closed and we were hungry. Luckily my wife saw some people eating on the patio, so a quick U turn and we arrived. Typical "plat du jour" except the choices were extremely good. I had a tarte de andouille for a starter and a quail dish for the plate. She had one of the best entrecôte steaks she has ever enjoyed. Glass of local red wine to accompany the meal was very good. Worth the stop, lots of parking on the street.

On a Saturday we stopped here on our way home and had lunch The service was good, the food for the price was excellent and as the portion size was large we never found out what the deserts tasted like, but they looked good, maybe next time It does a lot of pizzas but the lamb and the chicken looked good If we are back this way we would probably come here again if we can't find anywhere else

Best pizza I have ever had and lovely buzzy atmosphere.

We went for lunch in a party of eight, even when I booked the man on the phone was very jolly and I asked him for a quiet table if possible as we had someone with us who can't hear well. When we got there we were greeted in such a friendly way and they had set us up a table on our own behind a screen which we appreciated so much. The service was lovely, helpful and friendly. And our waitress even showed us a picture of the set plat de jour so we could choose The pizzas are honestly the best I think I ever had. Others in our party had the set menus of the day 14 euros for the three courses, they loved the tomato starter but two of them couldn't eat the main dish, they didn't like it, whilst one person loved it so mixed views of that. The dessert was nice. I saw other people with ice cream desserts and they looked really good. We were greeted also as we left and felt we had a really lovely time, the atmosphere in Stromboli is upbeat and good fun. I will definitely love to go back. Oh, they also do sharing platters for a more informal lunch which isn't easy to get in Ste Foy.

Dreadful service. The fish dish was not available nor was one of starter courses considering this was 7.30 in the evening not at all impressive. Although we live nearby we shall not be visiting again.

The worst food we’ve eaten in France in 3 years

We decided to try this restaurant with some other Aussie friends. What a disaster! The menu was limited (unless you wanted pizza) but we were all tempted by the prawns. When they arrived they were a funny colour and were very dry looking. After peeling them (they were difficult to peel - an indication they weren’t fresh) they smelled unusual. Not at all like fresh prawns. So we called the chef over to discuss the quality of the prawns and he commented that’s how they were in France. No apology - take it or leave it. Well we left it and the restaurant quick smart. Even the risotto that came with the prawns was really average. No apology, no discount. We will never go back. If possible I would have given this restaurant a zero rating.

Ste Foy la Grande has restaurants coming and going but this recent addition will stay! It’s Italian, with a mix of French and Italian dishes. We each ate half a chicken and frites and salad. I also had ice cream and armanac. We had champagne and two glasses of wine each. The bill was about €70+tip. Service was charming and efficient. The space is large but the restaurant so popular one must book.

A lovely restaurant with a varied menu. Very modern & quite stylish interior, including one large screen TV & a few 'normal' sized ones - which didn't interfere with the dining experience. Good food, good selection, reasonably priced.
