We arrived here at 8.45pm after a long, hot and tiring drive from Paris. We were recommended to come by the owner of our BnB, which usually is praise enough. We were seated on the terrace, social distancing and hygiene properly adhered to and very well managed. The staff were so lovely, kind, friendly, welcoming and really attentive. They spoke both English and French with us, which was reassuring for my children and they were extremely polite and patient with my rusty French! We chose the Mini Melchior steak option for our three children, I had the warm goats cheese salad and my husband had fish. The food came quickly and was absolutely sublime. My children's steak was cooked to perfection - they said it was the nicest they had ever had. My goats cheese was so good and my husband finished his fish in about 5 minutes flat! The wine was great too.
The overall experience was so good that the children asked to go back again the next night. Off we went again, we had no reservation and it was full, but they went out of their way to make a table up for us. The children ordered the same again but my husband and I made different choices. Goats cheese to start for me, followed by duck. My husband had the foie gras starter and duck also. Again, just sublime. Desserts are to die for as well. If Le Melchior appears on your list of possible places to dine I would call it a must do. 5 stars all round for every element - food, drink, setting, ambience and staff. So happy to have found you!

Visited here on the recommendation of friends & spent a very enjoyable Saturday lunchtime.
The hotel and restaurant are a little off the main road but in a beautiful setting.
We had the meal of the day and at 25€ it was very good value. The starters and sea bream were superb & the citron tart was a dessert foodies heaven.
Together with a carafe of local rose wine it was very good value for money.

On Christmas Day with friends we decided to come back for lunch at MELCHIOR. It was a very good idea. Always the same very good welcome, the boss smiling and relaxed, it's important "relaxed" means that everything is fine. And the friendly and customer-oriented staff. When we entered the dining room, we were amazed by the decoration of the tables, it was magnificent. Then came the appetizers, a treat and the dishes that followed up to the fish were delicious
then the fish dish arrived, very beautiful presentation, a fillet of line-caught sea bass on a bed of greenery and pomegranate seeds, I must say that I was surprised as I am not a fan of modern cuisine, of course I I tried and .......what a surprise, a delight for the taste buds, I finished my plate a little mocked by my friends who had often heard me say that I would not eat this type of cuisine.... like what !!!
Then before the next course we tasted a sorbet with an alcohol, the blend was subtle. And it was the turn of the capon, very nice presentation, I had never eaten a capon prepared like this: congratulations to the chef, we must think of him!! A very fine and very pleasant dish which is unusual.

Borderline welcome of politeness, (i.e. humor we did not understand), poor cuisine ... uninteresting sweetbreads, overcooked eel, dry and uninteresting, medium dessert. J'ai créé cet établissement en 2015 et depuis j'ai à coeur avec constance de présenter une cuisine simple mais gourmande ainsi qu'un service agréable et sympathique.
Visiblement, l'accueil qui vous a été réservé n'était pas approprié et de fait donc maladroit. Je m'en excuse à nouveau. Je vais rappeler à mes collaborateurs l'importance de la prise en charge initiale du client.
Comme souvent, quand un évènement perturbant se produit à une table, le reste du service de ces convives est une succession de ratages : oubli de réclamer les suites, erreur d'addition, renversement de boissons, ...
Je n'ai aucun argument à confronter à vos observations étant donné que je ne sais pas qui vous êtes, ni quand vous êtes venus.
Je sais cependant que mon établissement n'est pas "une machine à fric" mais un hotel-restaurant vivant avec aussi ses difficultés ; les prix sont extrêmement corrects, et les produits sont fabriqués maison. Point important, le client y est respecté ; si vous m'aviez indiqué avant de partir l'ensemble des griefs que vous relatez, je vous aurais invités.

Dinner on a Wednesday evening with family, excellent meal, nothing to say. The small downside is that the service was very fast. There was no time to finish our aperitif when the small cup of aperitif cakes which were not finished were taken away from us.... The dishes followed one another without us being able to take a little break in between. Too bad, we left with a stomach ache. There were very few people there that evening, 9 people in all, so we did not understand the urgency of sending the dishes.
Otherwise, pleasant staff. Thank you anyway for this good meal.

The place is charming, the staff young and unfortunately not very competent! With a fairly simple menu we were disappointed by all the dishes thanks to the salmon lake which was just a vulgar slice of dry and very salty salmon, or was the soft gravelax with no dill cream to accompany it. The piece of beef was not tasty. Very long service.

Very disappointing. More canteen cuisine than restaurant cuisine. After a first experience in July which was quite good, we tried again for a family dinner. The cannelloni piquillios was very ordinary, the entrecôte was not tender, the fish was very average with an accompaniment of flavorless saffron pasta. Even the desserts were disappointing except the sorbet. The red fruit tiramisù was more like whipped cream with very little fruit hidden inside. I didn't smell the mascarpone.
I was very embarrassed to have suggested this place to my family.

Very positive experience, pleasant setting, warm and efficient welcome and service. The menu is small but we are making homemade products and the quality is there. The only downside was that we did not benefit from the main room but from a small, extremely noisy room which still spoiled our meal a little...next time we will take advantage of the terrace if the weather permits or we will ask for the big room !

It had been a long time since I had eaten at Melchior and I was delighted to go back.
First of all the room is much more pleasant from a “sound” point of view, before there was a lot of resonance. The problem was resolved and made the meal much more enjoyable. A superb stop for lunch as we biked through the vineyards. A delicious cauliflower starter filled by perfectly cooked tuna and partner enjoyed a beautifully cooked piece of chicken on risotto. A caramel tart and coffee - then back on the bikes! Thoroughly recommend and it looked like a very nice place to stay the night.

I had the duck at Le Melchior and I was surprised at the quantity. It was cooked as I asked and was of a good quality.
