Sunday lunch with family and friends. A brilliant lunch with wine and coffee included for only 16€. Flavour, texture, just the right amount on a plate. Absolutely delightful. Booked to go again in 2 weeks. Gives other restaurants something to think about....totally delicious!

A warm welcome from the hostess and chef. Amuse bouche St Jacques, Italian salad, canard with vegetables, wonderful choice of cheeses, the most exquisite desert Grand Marnier mousse. All beautifully presented. What a find!

We went for lunch midweek and had the €18 fixed price menu. The owners are delightful and were keen to please. An unexpected amuse-bouche of clams was really tasty. The prawns in whisky were excellent, as was everything else that followed. The carafe of house...wine was better than many a bottle of more expensive wines I’ve drunk elsewhere. The only strange omission from the wine menu was that there were no white wines from the Loire region, only red. The cheese board was one of the most extensive I have ever seen and I was only sorry I couldn’t do it justice!More

We have just come back from a very very good lunch at Le Sympa. There were four of us and a dog, we were warmly welcomed and then taken through the bar to a very nice restaurant. The food was really good, with the chef...coming and introducing himself and explaining anything regarding the menu. The cheeseboard was something really special, as it seems most restaurants have now taken it off there menus. We had a superb meal, and will definitely be back. P.s. they serve very good wine as well.More

Good service, nice and plentiful food, a pleasant lunch. Beer was off as they had run out but wine is included in the plat du jour

We had a delicious meal here. Lots of fish beautifully cooked and served in a most friendly way. The relaxed appearance belies the care and skill with which the food is prepared. And it’s extremely reasonably priced. Strongly recommended

This restaurant is just up the road from my daughter's place in Laurette so it was a natural to give it a try and how glad we were that we did. Friendly and professional service in a cosy but smartly furnished back room with superb...food both in presentation and taste. There were five of us including our two year old daughter Viola and starters ranged from garlicky fresh grilled prawns to my sublime crab cocktail..a tasty melange of mousse. We then had a wonderful amuse bouche of scallop and smoked leek before mains which included in my wife's words the best veal chop in a superb sauce that she had ever had. My duck also was one of the best sliced with one of the half a dozen slices enrobed in crispy skin done to perfection. Great accompanying sauce and dauphinoise potatoes which were exactly how you'd hope they'd be in belle France. Cheese board was presented on a wooden board in the shape of France with the cheese cleverly placed near their origin followed by a mouth watering warm chocolate dessert. These were very decent portions at a competitive price washed down by a very quaffable wine. As the piece de resistance, the charming partner of the chef owner chatted to my granddaughter in French and we sat open mouthed as she answered back as if she'd been living in France for twenty years. We will return and my daughter vowed to recommend this great little restaurant to all her guests.More

The food, the service, the bosses, all very very goodI was in two mind about writing a review because I would rather keep it to ourselves, but it would not be fair on the owners this is truly a wonderful experience.

We went with friends for a first visit to this little restaurant in the small village of St. Vivien de Monsegur - we were very impressed with the high standard of the food, the charming service and the generosity of the couple who run it....The menu we had started with Amuse Bouche of coquilles st. Jacques (offered), cocktail de fruits de mer in a seafood sauce, filet of dorade (john Dory) with roquefort sauce, vegetables and potato gratin, an enormous plateau of fromages, and various desserts to choose from. The wine was included in the price of €15. This is amazing value for an evening meal. We will definitely be going again.More

8 of us had Sunday lunch at Le Sympa starting with drinks in the bar. We had an amazing, intensely flavoured Amuse Bouche of ceps with truffles, followed by a starter, main course, cheese, dessert with a bottle of Berticot sweet wine, then coffee. The...Sunday set menus are 15€, 18€ and 25€. 2 of us had the 25€ Menu whilst the others went for the 18€ menu. The prawns flambeed in whisky and the beef tournedos were fantastic and wine is included in the price. Desserts are mainly ice cream. All this for 56€ a couple, you can't beat it! Le Sympa is owned by husband and wife team, Serge and Francoise. They are friendly and welcoming. Serge is the chef whilst Francoise serves in the restaurant. The restaurant is not well known as it is in a very small village, but it is well worth a visit. Le Sympa restaurant is open daily for lunch and also dinner, but you need to book to give Serge advance warning. It is closed in October.More
