At no time did I feel rushed nor neglected by the team of capable young waitresses. Although quiet at first, the atmosphere was welcoming, and when more guests arrived there was a nice thrum to the place. The food was outstanding. The squash starter allowed for a different taste combination with each mouthful, with the occasional burst of pomegranate seed... More

Sunday lunch at The Swan is amazing. Service is perfect as the staff are always on hand but never overbearing and always serve with a smile. The lunch was lovely roast beef perfectly pink and melt in the mouth. My partner had roast hogget which was equally lovely. The beer is also very good and if you're feeling flush a... More

Fabulous looking building that promises much but fails to deliver. There is a certain pretentiousness about this place that matches the exterior appeal but sadly the food fails to deliver and is over priced for what it is. Sometimes places like this just fall between two stools. Not nice enough for a special occasion, not value enough for Regular meal.

We went for a family lunch and quiet honestly it was awful. Unfriendly staff and so overpriced for the quality of service and food. One of the children's dishes was inedibe. We won't be going back!!

Southrop is a wonderful south Cotswold village offering a variety of accommodations for the visitor. We stayed at a beautiful refurbished cottage which benefited from the close proximity of this wonderful pub and restaurant. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is of a very high quality, benefiting from vegetables grown and harvested fresh from their own... More

Impeccable, friendly, knowledgeable service from start to finish, both in the bar for pre-dinner drinks & in the restaurant. Quite possibly the BEST BREAD I've EVER eaten, made fresh daily at Thyme we were told. My side-salad was also utterly fantastic, perfectly dressed & seasoned. The only slight, tiny negative was that we felt our hake main course, whilst delicious,... More

First of all I must declare an interest, The Swan at Southrop is my local pub and I have resisted the urge to review it for that reason but I cannot hold back any longer. Each time I order the delectable cheese plate, Matts scotch eggs, the sublime risotto, lamb or a Sunday roast the kitchen never fails to exceed... More

We came here for Sunday lunch. The Swan is a very pretty pub in the quiet, little Cotswold village of Southrop. We were seated immediately and ordered our drinks and two beef dinners; which at £18 each we thought was rather on the expensive side! Our drinks came straight away but after over half an hour we still had not... More
