We recently moved to the area and heard good things about the Butcher's, but we were still taken by surprise. The first thing you notice is how friendly the place is - all the staff make you feel welcome, and the atmosphere is very cosy. They have a superb selection of draught ales and ciders from the area, plus a... More

Dropped in for lunch with my wife on a cold Thursday and was pleased I did. I ate the pigeon and black pudding starter doubled up as a main course and my wife had the pork tenderloin. They took a reassuringly long time to arrive- everything is therefore freshly cooked! Excellent ingredients, no fault in the cooking and the portions... More

We had heard a lot about The Butchers Arms over the years but never had the opportunity to go until last night Our table was booked for 19:00 and we were the first diners in the restaurant. The waitress was attentive and efficient and took our order for both drinks and food promptly The food arrived soon. I chose Whitebait... More

Been twice and going again this coming weekend. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. If its in the winter get a table near the fire place, its really snug and warm. Food was very nice, but some times rather small portions when it comes to the Veg. I asked for extra dauphinoise potatoes and got something the size of 2... More

Having had a late night Saturday, no better idea than a good Sunday lunch to help sort the hangover out. The butchers offer just the ticket, great food, no issue with extra potatoes like some places, excellent service, cheers Ben. And all topped off with a nice bottle of red, then home to sleep.

6 ladies for supper...New Year catch up...!....cannot fault our visit on any level really.... all main courses hot, well cooked...and devoured! Fish and chips especially enjoyed and also the vegetarian filo and cheese pie...we could have eaten bigger pieces probably.....Our waitress was excellent. On the ball, got the orders right...didn't hassle us...clearly well trained or she's been 'in the business'... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our country pub, lighting is very important and we have tried to brighten up some areas but it intruded on the overall ambiance of the olde world pub, modern lights don't fit in I'm afraid, may be more candles is the answer Kind regards Phil More

Went to this quaint English pub for a lunch and absolutely loved it. Great friendly service, beautiful open fire and over all a lovely pub with country views. I had the local lamb with dauphinois potatoes, my husband went for the hare and the in-laws had the haggis - absolutely lovely the food, it was fresh beautifully booked and truly... More

So often you go out for lunch on Christmas Day and come home feeling disappointed or that you could have done it better. Well not this year. Our lunch with friends at the Butchers was absolutely superb. The welcoming Prosecco and canapes were appreciated, the starters enjoyed and the main course was superb. Nothing was forgotten. Christmas pud was very... More

This place is back to its best! (not that it's ever been that far away from it) Friendly atmosphere good honest food. I like this place as it has a good selection of Game and local produce and it does what it says on the tin. (The birds I've had, have sometimes been a bit over for my liking, but... More

A lovely old half-timbered pub in gorgeous countryside 8 miles SE of Hereford and a few miles from Ledbury, Ross and Malvern. Run by chef Stephen Bull. The pub's food is sourced from local ingredients, and there are cask ales and local cider and perry. The Butchers runs regular special food and wine evenings (dates posted on website). Large garden with stream for nice days, two roaring fires in the winter. Separate room bookable for parties. Family and dog friendly. Warm welcome.
