Il Bucchero is the quintessential "home cooking" restaurant. The atmosphere is quaint and quite Tuscan. Il Bucchero is well suited for families. Pino, the owner, is both the chef and the host. Il Bucchero features inside and garden dining and is a favorite with locals. My wife and I eat there several times while we are in Chiusi and enjoy... More

For lunch on a cold January day we chose Il Bucchero. We were greeted by the owner, a most cheerful man (maybe he was extra happy because he was closing for a week's holiday the next day!). Food is simple but tasty, we both chose turkey breast with roast potato and grilled vegetables, all were delicious. The house wine was... More

We ate here twice for lunch and enjoyed the food and gracious hospitality very much. Our first lunch we ate outdoors in a lovely patio area with grape arbors overhead. We enjoyed a pasta with truffle sauce and gambas--large and delicious prawns and of course wine. Our second lunch was pizza--mushroom and truffles--and it was outstanding, thin crispy crust. Cozy... I visit el buchero un chiusi most evenings during my week long stay in chiusi. The place had a lovely pergoda covered garden just right for the warm summer evenings. Pinot the owner and chef was so very friendly making us all feel at home, no language problems. The pizzas were fantastic and the service was impeccable , I would... More

We thought the place was empty at first, but it turns out everyone was in the garden at the back. There was a lovely atmosphere, eating outside underneath grape-laden vines. The staff were helpful and friendly, rearranging things so that we could have a table. The pizzas were huge, with ultra-thin crusts and delicious toppings, though everything that came out... More

After a visit to the Cathedral and the amazing Etruscan museum in Chiusi, there are plenty of options for lunch, and my favourite is Il Bucchero. Pino, the chef and owner, is relaxed, accommodating, generous and makes a wonderful pizza. I take groups there regularly and each person I take is charmed by the vine covered pergola and, more importantly,... More
