Traditional trattoria in a rustic style in the ghetto area of Ferrara. Reasonable prices (€75 for four meals). As well as traditional food the boat is pushed out with some Indian, American, etc. dishes on the menu. Tries to seat the young crowd in one area and the old farts like me in another. Friendly & professional service.

We had dinner here and would never return. Although in a nice rustic setting, the food was definitely not good. After the starters I wished we had never come. The artichoke salad was just a bowl full of chopped artichokes in lemon juice - for €12. While waiting for our main course, the one main light in the room failed... More

Very nice experience... cheerful and nice, staff, cheap prices and excellent dishes. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, the location was a Yddish place, in the middle of Ferrara.

This town in Emilia is famous for tortellini, spaghetti bolognaise, etc. so nothing can go wrong here. Having a friend who was familiar with Ferrara also helped. In a quiet back alley but still in the city centre, the restaurant is few steps away from main street, right in the heart of the Jewish Quarter. This is why it sports... More

This restaurant is located in the old jewish ghetto. Probably this is the reason for an Yidish name (meaning houswife) although to the best of knowledge it was not spoken in Ferrara. The menus are a bit confusing, as there is the menu of the day, a general menu, jewish dishes with meat and finally Jewish dishes without meat. Luckily,... More

Very nice Osteria in the heart of the Jewish quarter. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. They serve traditional Ferrarese food. I had a pasta dish and it was very tasty. I loved their special mascarpone dessert too. Good value.

At other restaurants of Ferrara with 10 euros you won't even get an entreè, but at Balebuste's Osteria you'll eat a complete and healthy meal (italian house wine included), cooked with fresh ingredients, and with much love by their tuscan chef. Some of the plates, such as swordfish carpaccio or chestnuts soup with home-made pasta are to be found exclusively... More

More

We ran into this little restaurant by accident. Little place, with a charming interior, across from the old synagogue. Only four tables outside but fantastically cute. Service was good and the waitress was very attentive. We ate outside because the weather was amazing, but the interior is worth a look. ( I must say I do not understand the poor... More
