I went with my family to have a nice italian lunch and our experience turn out to be complete disappointment. It took 20 minutes to get a glass of water, another 20 minutes to receive the menu, and ten more minutes to make the order, only to find out that there was no pasta dishes at all! and it is... More

This was without doubt our most disappointing meal in Italy. The bread was the highlight and that was not great! Whole fish is charged per 100g so costs about 30-40% more than even a Michelin Star restaurant close by. Grilled tuna was over cooked and under seasoned and served entirely unaccompanied. Fried Calamari tough and also unseasoned. Fried mixed seafood... More

Porto Venere was at the end of an excellent walking holiday in the Cingue Terre area. A really attractive and bustling town. There are plenty of restaurants in the town and making a choice was challenging. We took pot-luck and we were not disappointed. In short we had a truly excellent and good value meal served in delightful surroundings by... More

Poor service , very small cold expensive portions. Good location but the cover charge reflect this . Staff seemed fed up as if they were doing us a favour.

What a pleasant surprise to find this delightful restaurant adjacent to the main piazza in Portovene. The atmosphere was only bested by the friendly service and quality food. We can highly recommend the baked fish and potatoes as well as the Scaloppine Milanese. Homemade gelato topped off the night. Don't waste a visit to the beautiful hamlet without eating here

Has lunch today.....I asked for the grilled fish (on the menu for 9 euros) x 2 for the wife and I.....The waiter suggested we have a whole fish instead if 2 halves so we said Ok.... When the bill came I paid and left... It wasn't till I was on the ferry returning to La Spezia that I realised I... More

6 of us went here as it is rated #11 of 57 on Tripadvisor and it was easy walking distance from our hotel. We had dined at La Marina da Antonio ((#7 of 57) the previous evening and been delighted with the food and service. As noted in so many reviews, the service here is terribly rude with haughty and... Our waitress recommended the piatta del giorno (pasta of the day) and it was delicious - homemade pasta with small shrimp. The fried calamari and french fries were cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed a carafe of the local red offered, which almost had a light sparkle. Wonderful pannacotta!

Once you have been in this part of Liguria for a few days you definitely get to know the menus most common features.Any sort of pasta with seafood is a staple. We had three nights in Porto veneer eating similar foods and this was by far the best value at 40 Euros a head for two courses and wine. Seats... More
