My husband and I stopped in for dinner about 8pm with no reservation but I highly recommend one. The service was excellent and the wait staff was very attentive. The eggplant gnocchi dish and pasta sampler were very good and the tiramisu and apple tart were out of this world. The porch and atmosphere were great although there was no... More

We had a family meal here, the courtyard is enchanting with twinkling lights, the restaurant is elegant, the walls are lined with art work and the furniture is antique, we sat at a grand table and the food was superb.

Upmarket restaurant offering many seafood & meat options in addition to the pasta based dishes. Nice modern setting, much more classy then the restaurants lining the beach with food of higher standard. Would recommend as best high end restaurant in town during our weeks stay

Don't order anything fried here. all the other fried items I've had in Italy have been lightly dusted, fresh and lovely. here they drown in batter. our entrees were good but it's so touristy and the table of frat boys sitting next to us were unbearable.

Had a great meal here. Pasta literally melts in your mouth. Freshly made! Sit in the courtyard. Although it does not have an ocean view, it's very pretty and private. Nice romantic dinner spot. Prices are typical Positano so a little high.

Food and wine was great, they were a bit too keen on the service, plates taken away before all diners had finished etc. If this is the biggest problem we had , then please eat here.

The decor in Max (also an "art gallery") is really fun! You feel like you're eating in a nice(not too crowded) antique shop. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! It is good for couples, families, and the occasional large group.

This is the first review I have written on Trip Advisor. We hav been coming to Positano for 9 years and have our favorite restaurants. We decided to try Max as it is highly rated on Trip Advisor. The ambience is fantastic, the local art on display provides a strong point of difference. The food was ok but red meat... More

We visited this place 4 times, but by the second visit, the waiters already addressed me by name..! We visited for both lunch - twice, and dinner and the food was consistently fabulous. The interior of the restaurant was sublime, stylish and very arty…the very best mixture of tastes from a library, a wine cellar and a country house.

Very calm, quiet restaurant hidden away from all the noise and chaos of positano. Peaceful refuge from the crowds. Food is good but certainly not innovative or spectacular. And service is a little slow and casual. In Max's actual home (dining room abuts the family's living room) which gives it a very comfortable feeling
