This restaurant is sometimes great and sometimes ordinary. All the food is locally sourced and the service is good. Some friends have had great steaks and sometimes very ordinary. For that reason I usually have the local trout.

If you find yourself in this region of France, you should stop here in La Cabanas at LaCube. We were taken here with friends who have lived most of their lives in the region - the food was not only excellent but deliciously regional. For a group of 6, we got to taste a lot of different dishes, wines and... More

A friendly restaurant that sources most of its ingredients locally. The proprietor is very pleasant and keen to make sure you enjoy his food and restaurant. Most of the menu consists of beef, or trout, and comes accompanied by chips and salad. I had a smoked trout salad, followed by veal cooked in cumin; both were very tasty and filling.... More

The owner is a farmer. He uses his own fresh produce to make beautiful, tasty meals. Lovely chap. Speaks English; well, better than I speak French. We asked for dish of the day. Outstanding. You will go far and pay much to find a venue that serves comparably delicious cuisine. Yet the price was extremely reasonable and the welcome very... More

Phillipe (je suis en rockstar) LaCube (owner) was on great form when we visited one lunchtime, 'performing' for his guests a number of traditional songs, you could see Phillipe was in his element. Food was excellent and by 12.30pm the restaurant was full to bursting. This place would probably not suit vegetarians as it serves mostly beef dishes. We both... More

Firstly, this is not a restaurant for vegetarians, or even those who don't eat much red meat: the menu has only 2 non-beef options: cheese salad, and trout (both excellent). Even the chips are cooked in duck fat. There are also limited options with regards to vegetables or accompaniments - chips and a small green salad come with everything. However,... More

One of the best places ever. Simple but amazing local food. Very very tasty and so well served. Book in advance as it is usually full.

Some friends who live here took us to this local restaurant - definitely need to book as it is full most nights (only restaurant in town) Locally sourced ingredients - we had trout and it was delicious. Portions are generous and it is reasonably priced. Atmosphere was lovely. Service was great and although little french spoken in our party owners/waiters... More

We've just spent a week in Les Cabannes and ate here twice, once on the Sunday night and once on the following Friday night. Even though we were very much out of season, we needed to book both times as the restaurant was full when we just turned up on the Saturday. The food was excellent - all locally sourced... More

Description
I wanted to create in my village of Ariege a local restaurant dual vocation, taste and heritage, to show how good our products mountains are the fruit of this exceptional territory . Because I love these Pyrenean mountains, because our profession of breeder shapes for generations mountain areas, from the bottom of the Ariege valleys to peaks. And that mountain triptych, man, animal is the cornerstone of our culture, and our economy, the Pyrenean ecosystem. It offers a high food quality and environmental flavor. By discovering these places, tasting these flavors simple and true, you will come to meet our history. So contemporary, full of life, and future direction .
