My wife, our 6-year old son, and I had a very satisfying and satisfactory dinner. The food was traditional, well prepared, and non-pretentious. We liked this place, ranked 75th, better than the 4th ranked restaurant in Sarlat we dined in the previous evening. So much for trusting these rankings blindly!

Found this place down an alley in the historic centre. The 3 course menu du chevalier at under 13 euros looked good so we decided to give it a try. We sat outside despite the rain as it was dry under the canopies. Service was quick and friendly. Starters were a choice of garlic soup or mushroom pate. Mains were... More

Chose to dine here but when we tried to get a table were turned away. There was a free table set for six in the courtyard with no reservation. As we were a group of four we asked if the table for two could be separated so we could eat there but were told in no uncertain terms that they... More

We had lunch in this wonderful restaurant just off the main cobbled street. Popular we quickly saw why - we dined inside with the welcome coolness - service was quick and friendly without rushing us. The food was an excellent price, well cooked and beautifully presented.

Le Medieval was among the few restaurants opened for a late lunch. It turned out to be a nice surprise. Our meals were delicious, the menus are well priced. The coq-au-vin was a bit sour but very tender. The desserts le pain perdu and tiramisu d'été were very good. All in all, very good experience.

Had a beautiful three course meal for 13 Euro. Great service and atmosphere. The location in the Medival city makes it a perfect location.

We ate here for Sunday lunchtime when many French families eat out. We were taken by the choice of menu and the lovely setting in an alley/courtyard. We arrived just before noon after scouting round a few other venues. On entering we were asked if we had booked. Although not, we were offered a choice of 3 or 4 tables.... More

Hidden away in an alley you may not think this place is worth trying but I did for dinner. I had the goose gizzard salad, the gizzards done in a raspberry reduction, then the reduction was drizzled over the salad, very good. The main course was sliced duck breast with a mushroom reduction that again was delicious. The staff was attentive... More
