Great dinner, friendly staff who were very good with our trantrumy toddler, we have booked to go again this week. If you go you must book a couple of days ahead.

Marvellous mid week meal in a relatively quiet town at this time of the year. Really good atmosphere in the restaurant and very friendly and capable service. Dinner was lovely, we were going to re-visit the next night, but they had Thursday off!

They focus on local dishes, very tasty, great service. My husband found it on Trip advisor so we searched it out. The strangest thing is that there was so much Christmas decorations, in May?

Ate here both nights we were in Mont Dore. It was packed and full of atmosphere both nights. I guess in high season you would need to make a reservation or get there early. It is like walking into a huge timber clad mountain hut and comes complete with large selection of cow bells. It specialises in traditional Auvergne food... More

We ate here twice in a three night stay in Mont Dore and enjoyed both occaisions. It always seem to be busy and popular with a good atmosphere. The Truffade was excellent as were the local cured meats. You must try the small bottles of heritage beer served, especially the dark "Biere de Lave".

This place was great; so good we went back twice! The food was hearty, honest and good value. We especially liked the Magret de Canard and the Raclette. Service was great considering our lack of French language skills. For the musically inclined, the cow bells are a challenge to get a tune out of.

Quiet Monday in Mont Dore so we nipped in for a meal. The place is like a timber clad mountain hut. Service exceptional. Madam looked after 40 diners, all arriving within 30 mins of each other, with true professionalism. Truffade is local dish and was excellent. Its basically a wooded platter with a slice of cured ham, with salad garnish,... More

Definately a good place to eat in Le Mont-Dore. The truffade is very good. During french school vacations you need to get there early or make a reservation. ,
