The interior is a bit eclectic but this unassuming restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is great, and changes with the seasons. Try out fish and also their soups. Very friendly service. However – this is Cancale. If you fancy oysters, go to the market and eat them there for starters and come back for all the rest.

When we got tho the Cancale waterfront there was a lineup of seafood restaurants. This one caught our eye with an attractive front and a busy interior. We were not disappointed. The food was a definite cut above, creative and of high quality. There was a lunch formula available, for 36 euros, which one of us had. It offered three... More

This restaurant is located on restaurant row along the bay. It would have a beautiful view, except that there is a parking lot between the restaurants and the bay! What a shame. Le Troquet is famous for its oysters from the Bay of St. Michel which get their particular flavor from the strain of algae found in the bay. The... More

The Cancale seafront is lined up with restaurants and they all seem to offer the same food so it's difficult to choose one. Le Troquet is one that has a menu that is slightly more expensive than others and you can see why when you walk in the restaurant, with the decor a step above the other restaurants. All the... More

We spent a week in Cancale in August and it rained every day, except for the last when we 'hit town'. There are quite a lot of traditional French restaurants along the front at Cancale, and this one seemed the most appealing from its decor, menu and atmosphere. We hit the jackpot. Super friendly staff with a large menu -... More

Good restaurant! Service was good even though it was really busy! The oysters appetizers were very good, fresh and 2 different sizes. Overall the fish was very good, large cheese platter at the end. Good wine selection. Restaurant located right near the water in the main strip, convinient parking right across the street!

We both had the restaurant's 39.50 Euro three course menu. She started with a plate of the famous Cancale oysters and I had a nage of escargots in a fabulous broth. Next, we both had coquille St. Jacques which was excellent and finished with a very nice cheese course. A great lunch.

Having a Summer home not far away, for many years we have visited Cancale and its many great restaurants on a very regular basis. We never have been disappointed. Value for money, food and service has always been superb at places like Chez Victor, Le Bout du Quai and Mère Champlain. During a very nice meal at La Pointe du... More

We had lunch there a few weeks ago. Mussels were fresh and tasted good but it is difficult to spoil this dish or make it too special as it is so simple. What really annoyed me is a charge of 12.50 euros for a child portion of ham and chips! I don't mind paying more for a good quality meal... More

We had the 3 course meal for €25.50. Oysters were beautifully fresh, the main course was excellent and the dessert, a home-made 'far breton' was fantastic - one of the best I've ever eaten! We also sat outside in the sun which was great in Spring. The service was also really nice and friendly which made the meal all the... More
