We had tied the boat up for the night at a quiet quai near the rail that provided water and elec for 10€. Chagny is not the prettiest of towns, however, we stumbled on the most delightful fruit, vegetable and wine shop at at 16 Rue du Bourg, next to the pharmacy. The proprietor was delightful. He had the most... More

If you are traveling in Burgundy between the Côte d' Or and Côte Chalonnais and you are passing through Chagny, this is a great place to stop for lunch. An advanced booking would be advised since the small restaurant fills quire easily. They specialize on main courses from the grill which come with side dishes. The prixe fixe menus are... More

Nice restaurant. We had to wait some time, because we had not booked a table. Then we got a place and we had a good French diner, with nice wine from the region. Our expectations in France are always higher, that is the evaluation with three stars. Had this restaurant been in the Netherlands I certainly had given four stars.... More

This was a great restaurant for meat lovers - the food was cooked in the restaurant on a grill over a wooden fire. There was a good selection to choose from and you could choose sides to go with it. It was a really enjoyable evening.

First experience of very relaxed, informal setting where the food and wine still held centre stage. We booked less than an hour before arrival and took the last two places in a very busy restaurant. The two servers and chef were superb. Not fine dining but very fine food and wine, well cooked and presented. Very unpretentious. Would definitely recommend... More

We accidentally ran into this place. With my poor France I was able to book a table for two in 30 mins (21:15). Place is small and cosy with an ancient look. A nice open BBQ in the dinning area completes it. I had a great entrecôte with scallops as starter. Nice house wine and good value for price. We... More

I have a house close to Chagny, and when we go to Chgny market, we always try and have lunch here. The food is excellent value, and the service always charming. The menu is good bistro fare, and the meats are barbecued on an open fire in the dining room. The dining room is an ancient and atmospheric space, deteminedly... More

We visited here last year and returned to Changny in our camper van this year, excellent location. We booked a table as its always busy with local people and families, the food is mostly meat, excellent local produce cooked over the wood fired grill (just like a Rick Stein programme) Food tastes great, local dishes such as jambon au persil...
