If you are lucky enough to spend some quality beach time in Le Racou by Argeles-Sur-Mer, you need to have lunch at Le Menge Ecaille. It is a very quaint place next to the beach. It is very relaxing, and the food is delicious. The owner is usually right there, and makes you feel right at home. I loved everything... More

We had lunch here twice during a recent stay. It's fair to say, my husband and I both love fish and were not disappointed here. Both meals were absolutely fantastic. All the fish is fresh and the menu changes frequently. Our starters included clams, anchovies with orange and tapenade, a cured tuna, which looked like iberico ham, and mackerel. Mains... More

My husband is the fish eater, I'm a little dubious but willing to try. We went with our 8 yr old daughter. They were very busy but the waiter went through the chalkboard menu ( which was too much for my limited gcse French!) in good English and in depth. I had mussels for starter and my husband had red... We have been to this restaurant before and it never fails to surprise. It is actually located in Le Racou, close to the beach. It is a quirky place in that it looks like a shack and has a very laid back look to it but this should not put you off as the food, like previous times, is excellent.... More

My friend and I went to dine there last night. We hadn't booked and were prepared to wait. One and a half hours later we asked if we might sit down it was now 10.45pm. The served explained they were short of a person serving because they had contracted sunstroke at the beach so they were under pressure. At 11.30... More

Just a stones throw from Le Racou beach this welcoming and authentic restaurant makes a feast from the arrivages available from nearby markets. The style is Catalan with lots of fish (although little shellfish) all of which had been caught locally. Lovely tapas style starters and a very different take on moules frites

Yes, it is not cheap. But it is worth it! Close to the beach, the restaurant has an laidback atmosphere with a special interior (with hair dryers and a huge plush dog) and we felt comfortable immediately. The audience is a mix of singles, couples, families and groups. The owner presented the whole menu to the two of us in... More

Overlooking the harbour with outside seating, very professional welcoming staff. The cooking style is catalan and it serves mainly seafood but also does a good steak. We thoroughly enjoyed out meal there, couldn't really fault it at all. Try the coffee gourmond - you get an expresso and several miniature cakes which are very yummy.

At the street behind the famous Le Racou beach in Argeles-sur-Mer, you will find this tiny restaurant. Don't be misled by the beach house looks of it. The restaurant serves catalan (spanish influenced) seafood and meat with sometimes an asian twist. Fresh blue lobster from the homarium. We had mussels with tomato sauce and ginger and a dorade tartare (raw)... More
