We had a stopover in Saintes and this restaurant was close to our hotel so we tried it. We’re so glad we did. Very friendly staff and a great choice of cuisines. We were impressed that we could choose a set menu but choose starters, main courses and desserts from different cuisines if we wanted. All of the food was really good so we’ll definitely be back the next time we stopover in Saintes.

Interesting place and good food

This was one of the most unusual restaurants I visited on my recent trip to Charentes-Maritime. We had been looking for a Mexican restaurant (one of our number was a vegetarian and she was looking for something spicy and veggie) in the region but there are none to be found in the vicinity however we noticed there were some Quesadillas etc on the menu here when we looked it up on Trip Advisor. When we got there we discovered the Quesadillas all contained meat (they don't do Veggie very much in France) but they did do pizza too so our veggie was happy. Anyway, the menu is great for a mixed party as we were with some nice French options for some (me) and pizza's, burgers etc for the people who just want to eat what they eat at home. Waiting staff were very nice and very patient with all our fussy grown up kids (18-23) and their request for various pizzas etc "sans" this that or the other. It is a very modern setting and a large restaurant and seems to attract hen parties ( there were 3 there on the night we visited) but all handled very well. Food tasted great, was delivered promptly and was at a reasonable price. Ideal for non French visitors to the town of Saintes.

Came there, really hungry. At 7.10 pm was closed, although all webpages and front door said they open at 7. We called them and explained the situation. They said that will open at 7.30 pm and when we asked about the inconsistency, they just dropped the phone. Sorry, but this is too much even for France.

This restaurant used to be OK for a pizza lunch about 5 years ago but our recent visit would not lead to a return. The service was slow and impersonal, and mistimed so that one of the party having no starter was presented with the main course before the other three received starters. Cold food and rather dull choice. Sorry but there are plenty of better restaurants in the area.

I am sure this place is great in lots of ways, but it was just not our kind of thing at all. We only went in because we were hungry, otherwise we'd have headed for a better place.
