The Globe Cafe & Tapas Bar is your typical alpine restaurant. It has a very cozy décor making it a wonderful place to come in out of the snow relax with a bottle of wine or a meal. Alex, the head chef, makes a spectacular pizza among other delicious dishes. The staff are warm and welcoming and Amber made us feel right at home. Outside there was a crazy sausage sizzle going on called Hip Hop and Hotdogs. It is perfectly located in the center of the village and a perfect place to relax and unwind for lunch or dinner or just a quiet drink with friends or loved ones.

Enjoyed a truly delicious 6 course wine pairing dinner last Friday, with Chef Alex really displaying his incredible talent, with generous portions of beautifully paired wines from Meyer & Mayhem Vineyards. We really enjoyed ourselves with our table of 6 being so well taken care of by Dayna and her team. From oysters, to scallops, and a delicately roasted chicken breast, to short ribs and the most delectable beet sorbet, concluding with a light refreshing dessert to die for! We will certainly be back to enjoy more wine events this winter! Thank you!
Globe really is also the perfect cosy place on the hill for a great coffee or a beer/glass of wine with a range of breakfast snacks and hearty lunch options including the addition now of the famous Fish n’ Chips from the Broken Anchor menu ( available daily in the Cafe!) . Love it all. Thanks Ross and Team Globe. Still the friendliest smiles on the hill!

Great Après-ski experience with Live entertainment. We started with a cocktail, a nicely chilled Chardonnay, then a Chenin Blanc and a Pinot Noir. The wines were presented in beautiful RIEDEL wine-glasses which enhances the wine-taste big time.
Nam, our very friendly waiter, guided us to build our charcuterie board with Tirol speck, Spanish Chorizo, Ahi Tuna, Camembert, grilled portabella and two spreads with spinach, artichoke and garlic.
This creation did taste fantastic especially with the skillet bread.
And we liked the atmosphere.

Our group of 6 were hoping to have some Tapas for lunch we arrived at 12.15pm. We waited at the entry counter for about 15 minutes while one of waiters took the same amount of time collecting individual bills from a table of 8. We were then taken to a table and we found out on the menu, tapas doesn't start until 2, all we were offered were a number of egg dishes. After waiting a long time for your dishes to arrive, I asked the waiter to check, she then delivered 4 of the 6 meals to the table. We then waited another 10 minutes for the other 2 to arrive. The meals were quite basis and just okay. To the waiter's credit she removed 2 meals from the bill without us saying anything.

Arrived at 12:30 and there’s a 45 min wait for a table. By 13:45 there are several tables available and the mad lunch time rush is over. Food is okay and tasty Nd the pricing is fine. Unfortunately the mad American TIP disease has landed at Big White … when you pay your bill the options are 18.5, 20 or 25% as a tip and thats rediculous as service is slow because they are busy. No one is doing anything other than the normal service so where they get this tip scale from I don’t know. It’s a shame because good service should be rewarded but now you’re basically paying their wages and the restaurant doesn’t increase their wages … starting to see why so many people turn up on the mountain with their own foods. Still … this place is still better than the rest of them and they all server the same sort of fare.

One of the few restaurants on the hill not owned and operated by the Big White conglomerate, this cozy yet very central establishment has a different vibe from everything else BW... a good vibe. Like, chill, relaxed, low key, casual, homey type of vibe. We spent hours on the coffee shop side (on the right when entering) so cannot comment on the restaurant side.
Our breakfast was done well if you like the following: very crispy 3 or 4 rashes of bacon, sourdough bread (no other option) and large chunks of potato hash (not the puny store bought kind). Eggs are done to your specs so cannot go wrong there.
Service was friendly and up to par and the atmosphere was warm and cozy... hence our 3 hour breakfast. Coffee kept coming and the baked goods were available to purchase piecemeal. Price is resort average so don't expect any deals but once in a while I feel like I would rather support the local small businesses anyway... Big White has enough of our money. 4 stars.

Thanks so much for your review and for taking the time to share your relaxed experience in our Cafe vibe! It's a great place to sit and hang with friends over coffee and snacks and we are glad you were able to make the most of that. Come back and try Tapas and Wine maybe next time and take advantage of our season pass holders deals which are all listed under the Inside Edge program on bigwhite.com. Thanks again and we hope to see you soon!

The management and staff at The Globe lived up to their great reputation yesterday as they fed 67 kids and supervisors of my daughters schools grade 6 classes. They very efficiently seated and served us and catered to those with special dietary needs.
I’ve eaten and drank here on many occasions and am always happy to return and give them my business. Not only is it excellent food and service but they are leaders in giving back to the communities around them which weighs heavily in my books.

We have eaten here every year for the past 4 years and each year it just got better. This year however we found it disappointing. The food just didn't wow us this time. Still good, but its been better. One issue is the variation in the size of the plates. Some were generous but some too small (eg 5 haloumi chips or 3 slices of brisket) Overall the food quality was good so still worth a try. The service was very slow, but they were very busy so maybe not expecting so many for the evening.

Across the week the Globe offers an extensive range of dining options. We dropped in for a glass of wine at the bar and ended up staying and enjoying their Sunday night paella special. There are nightly specials every day.
We really enjoyed the seafood paella, which included prawns, calamari and smoked salmon. It was finished off under the grill and presented beautifully. Good value.
Like all the restaurants at Big White the Globe’s wine list favours locally produced vintages from the Okanagan Valley. A good range.
Live flamenco music, played by a local guitarist, was a bonus.

My family came out to Big White to take our 5 year old son tubing. We have never been there before. We wanted to go somewhere for a quick coffee/hot chocolate and decided on this place. When we arrived a few tables were just leaving so we were able to get a booth, there were 3 other empty tables. We waited about 10 minutes and no one noticed us. I went up to the hostess as I could tell they were a bit busy probably cashing out the previous tables and told her we had been waiting and we would like to order.
During this time 3 other tables were sat, then were also served waters. We still had not been approached, I tried a few more times to get a servers attention. Now it was close to 2 minutes and I decided it was time to leave as we were being completely ignored, Our son was not happy either and could care less about his hot chocolate anymore.
When the server finally came over to serve the table next to us that was seated way after we were I told her the situation, that we were ignored and 3 other tables were served before us she just said o sorry, we are really busy!!!
Terrible service!!! Will never go back,

I am so very sorry that we for some reason were unable to deliver our usual high quality service to you on your recent visit with your young son. In order to figure what went wrong here and how to assess some retraining needs especially for our busiest times, if you could possibly reach out to me personally at jude@globedining.com I can get a bit more information about the time and date of your visit, the server you interacted with, and whether this was in our cafe or restaurant side? I am really hoping your young son was perhaps able to discover our kids play area while the wait was longer than usual, but if not hopefully I can ensure a much more enjoyable and satisfying visit should you decide to venture back and give us another opportunity to serve your family better. Can’t apologize enough that this was your first impression of us and we appreciate the time you took to bring it to our attention. Jude- Co Owner.

I've never been a tapas fan, so read this with that in mind. We arrived for supper with kids and grandkids. Monday nights kids eat free, so consider a reservation if you go.
A variety of tapas was ordered and the kids loved the food. The patatas bravas, Korean cauliflower, bison meatballs and Italian meatballs were the favourites. Even my wife who dislikes potatoes liked the Patatas, cauliflower was a big hit as well.
The kids had the s'mores for dessert and they were a big hit.
Service was very good, dishes hot and well timed. Atmosphere was nice and laid back.
Still not a tapas convert,, nothing to do with the restaurant.

John we are so glad your experience possibly exceeded your Tapas expectations especially with younger ones in tow! Being a Mum too, we've always tried to create a menu that might introduce kids to new flavours or ingredients and that's why we try to offer Kids Eat Free nights, & 30% discount times too, to encourage families to come in and try us out. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, we really appreciate it. Tapas style dining is not for everyone we know, and I'm sorry we were not able to convert you totally but we are thrilled you gave it a go with the family! Next time maybe try our sister The Blarney Stone Irish Tavern for some hearty Irish style appies, mains and desserts in a more traditional style too!

Thanks for the amazing review! I couldn't have said it better. We are thrilled to be one of your favourites... we know there are options on the mountain but we strive to be the BEST. We have lots of LIVE music events coming up like Spanish Sundays with Live Spanish Flamenco Guitar at the Globe EVERY Sunday. Or try our sister property, the Blarney Stone Irish Tavern, with Dan Tait on Jan 10th and Bluesday Tuesdays with Poppa Dawg! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Having had an excellent experience last year, we were keen to return with friends to have dinner at the globe this year. The evening was marred by the fact that my 24 year old son, despite having photo ID (driving licence) and verification from his parents that the ID was his, was not allowed a glass of wine. Having been to a number of other restaurants at Big White this week, we had not encountered such puritanical restrictions. Clearly the Globe must have a poor reputation for under age drinking. Needless to say we will not be returning.

I am so sorry your experience last week was marred by us upholding the laws of British Columbia by ID'ing anyone "who looks under 35". Whilst I know this can be so frustrating for overseas visitors who may be unaware of it, we are required by law to ask for 2 forms of valid ID with a combination of photo/signature/birthdate and that is clearly stated on posters and information sheets all around the restaurant. Contrary to your comments re Globe "obviously having a poor reputation for underage drinking" , that is most certainly not the case precisely because we ARE vigilant re ID checks as required by the LIquor Laws of BC. The risk of not doing so includes multi thousand dollar fines to the establishment and forced suspension of liquor service, which I hope you can agree is not worth the risk of ignoring the law. We are clearly very disappointed that you felt the need to give us a negative online review despite a previous great dining experience, but on this occasion I sadly can do nothing to rectify the situation for you:( Hopefully you will enjoy all other future dining experiences in BC now knowing that this is a strict law that ALL establishments may enforce for anyone looking under 35, as your son clearly does.

Family dinner on our last night of a 2 week trip. Food and service was really good. Unfortunately we sat right next to the stage where they had a local musician play the most god awful music I’ve ever heard. Really inappropriate lyrics for family dinner with kids and so loud we had to yell at each other. Bad choice of entertainment from the management.

Thank you for taking the time to review. I do find the low rating a bit excessive considering you did mention the core of the meal, food and service to be quite good.
Being a venue that welcomes live music we do unfortunately sometimes have misses in the entertainment, even with due diligence of auditions and vetting.
We're sorry you didn't enjoy the entertainment part if the night
