We visited the restaurant beginning March and were not disappointed. Excellent food, good atmosphere and friendly staff. I had a turkey steak with delicious Riesling-cheese sauce and basmati-rice and my husband had meatballs with onions and delicious fried potatoes. We walked in just after the restaurant had opened the doors that evening - they were open from Thursday to Sunday... More

We were pleasantly surprised to find an open table despite it being a busy Saturday night. The small restaurant is excellently decorated with a collection of local antiques, worth taking pictures of the restaurant itself. A delicious salad bar for 2.40 euro is a good appetizer, and the menu is big enough to find something delicious for everyone. I enjoyed... More

Great atmosphere, friendly service and good wholesome food....great find. We visited in early December and the restaurant was packed....always a good sign. Good service by the waiters, a varied selection of food on the menu, and all at a reasonable price. Would agree with earlier reviews, the salad bar for 2.40 euros is a very good option for an appetizer.....a... More

Despite the touristic touch with lots of gimmicks it is a cosy place with above the average food. Friendly staff and moderate prices. Don't miss it

When history meets good quality you have a winner! From tap beer to crisp Riesling, lemony veal schnitzel and sweet apple dessert - only topped by a visit to their millenarian wine cellar. German wine country is their best kept secret; this place is a must.

The restaurant is very busy and it is hard to get a seat. As a result, one might want to make a reservation. You may also be asked to share your table with others. The food is good and consists of more typical German dishes that are tasty and well prepared. Service was good despite the crowd. I recommend you... More

This is clearly a popular restaurant, and serves a good range of dishes. Prices are reasonable, and it offers a good range of wines. Particularly liked the salad buffet; for 2.20euros you compile a small bowl from the salad bar. Much nicer than any side salad that is offered in England.

Central location. We visited the place twice during our stay. No reservations on phone in English, but once there, English is ok. This ambivalence could be troublesome, but we had some primary school German lessons in our rucksacks. Beware of the fact that only cash is accepted and that the upper space/room in the house is very, very hot, so... More

We here at a cloudy day and it started of badly. We asked for a place outside but the answer was very rude: "It is going to rain, so no service outside". After we went for a walk in the town (30 mi.) we came by it again and the teracce was almost full. So we asked again and ther... More
