For starters, the ambience was really cute. Very rustic and homey set in an old German home on a river. The Food was excellent! I had the duck with Knödel and a side of a creamed vegetable. All were flavorful, fresh and cooked to perfection!...My husband had the wild boar which was amazing. It was a huge hunk and very moist. It came with a very delicious meat sauce on the side. Our friend had pumpkin Gnocchi which was very flavorful and a good vegetarian option. All meals were perfect! The house Franconian wines were also good and a great value! Lastly, the service was rude, unfriendly and inattentive which really was too bad. I would have given 5 stars but bc of this they get 3. We will go back but hopefully there will be another waitress.More

Me and my brother stayed here for 1 night in february and was a perfect stay. Quick check in, coffee for free in the hall, clean room, comfortable bed (it was a soft bed but somehow comfy). Total quiet at night. Breakfast was delicious. Yummy...bread and cold cuts and cheeses and jams. Perfect way to start the day. Its a small local hotel, no luxuries but we paid 35 euros each for 2 single rooms so its very cheap. LOcation is great. Few min from train station and 5 minutes from 2 of the famous breweries/pubs. Someone had recommended Fässla but it was closed on the sunday and we went to Spezial right in front. Great food and beers and very close stroll back to hotel. Will be back when i have to go to bambergMore
