There were two there and were already prepared that the food will be expensive, did not surprise us that it is really expensive. Citizens and fish were very delicious and came to the table after about 15 minutes. Dessert was also very good.

The lighthouse is located up on the dike with a great view of the North Sea.
The ambience is good and pleasant. We sat outside. Wind protection, umbrellas and blankets are available.
Our fish dishes were delicious and attractively served. Otherwise, the usual North German cuisine. The selection of beer and cocktails is varied. The cake looks good, but we didn't try it.
The service was good and friendly. The prices are a bit higher, in keeping with the location.
We can imagine eating here again. Recommended.

We came from Sahlenburg for breakfast today. We knew the restaurant from a visit a few years ago and always wanted to go back because we liked it so much. Today was the day and I was pretty disappointed. I remembered the restaurant as being quaint, you sat outside, under a few parasols in the sun and the wind, with all the noises and smells that come with the North Sea. Today you sit shielded by huge umbrellas that are set up seamlessly, sealed off by panes of glass (although I think that's OK because of the wind). The worst thing, however, was the loud club music from speakers that were evenly attached to the umbrellas. That was extremely annoying early in the morning at breakfast. Not everything that is more modern is also nicer. I'm sure there are lots of young guests who think that's great, but we thought it was a shame.

We spent a great day at the beach yesterday. In the afternoon we wanted to buy a fish sandwich and decided on this shop because it was very close by. But you can forget about the fish sandwiches with fried fish. The service was very friendly but the sandwich for €7.00 was very small and had more salad and remoulade on it than fish. There were also the stalks on the salad. You could hardly notice the fish under the greasy breading. The fat came through the bag.

Everything is very nicely set up outside.
Wind protection, large umbrellas protect against sun and rain.
The view is magnificent, over the promenade, beach, the Wadden Sea.
But the extremely overpriced prices are also magnificent.
A cocktail starts at an unbelievable 9.50 euros.
Guys, we are not on the KÖ in Düsseldorf.
Drinks and food are much cheaper in town.

Unfortunately, not in the future!
We were in Cuxhaven again for a week at the end of January. The Leuchtfeuer restaurant has always been a place to feel good. However, after the last price increase, we will no longer visit this restaurant. 0.5 l draft beer €6.70, currywurst with French fries €14, redfish with vegetables and mashed potatoes €28. This is just a small excerpt from the menu. For us, a limit has been reached here that we do not want to exceed. Even if it is a holiday and the last euro does not necessarily count, you should not accept all price increases.
Of course, you can argue that the VAT has been raised back to the normal 19% and that a price increase is therefore justified. But when the VAT was reduced, this advantage was not passed on to the guests? It's a shame, it was very nice with you for many years. Perhaps you should think about our point of view.

Unfortunately we were not so satisfied, we were there twice over Easter with a reservation... the reservation worked out perfectly on Good Friday, but not on Easter Sunday. No window seat facing the sea. Our name was in the book, but not on the daily paper. The spareribs were tough and gristly. Didn't fall off the bone. Apparently they should have informed us immediately, after which they couldn't accept any more complaints 🤷♀️More show than substance and the location scores points. What a pity ☹️

Foreigners, don't go without reservation. And know it's difficult to make one. It's impossible for foreigners to download the app they recommend to make a reservation and they don't answer the phone. So, keep that in mind because it's looks cosy from the outside!

We have been here a few times in the last year and very pleased with the great view and the good food. Unfortunately, some food has now been taken off the menu and you only have a smaller selection. The quality of the food at Leuchtfeuer was OK.
I have to say, however, that my overall impression has changed from 4 years ago (5 stars).
A relatively simple order for 2 people went wrong. 1 drink was wrong. A meal with vegetables, even though I didn't want any. The second person only got half of the order. Mind you, the restaurant was occupied by an estimated 10 people at the time, so it was practically empty.
As I said, we weren't a tour group, just 2 people.
Overall, I don't find it as friendly and high quality as it was back then.
I still want to point out that the food was good. The second waiter also quickly delivered the missing dish.
I respect that not everything always works, but at these prices it has to be better.
Overall, I didn't feel comfortable.

We had the veggie burger and the chicken crispy burger. They came with beautifully cooked fries. Unfortunately the burgers weren't that good and they seemed to sell quantity over quality.

Leuchtfeuer Restaurant in Cuxhaven is a popular place located close to the beach walk and a perfect place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. We have been twice to the place during our visits there and they offer a variety of Burgers (fish, chicken, veggie etc) with drinks. We relished their Campari Orange, Beer, Fritz Kola for drinks and the main course was Crispy Chicken Burger, Fish 'n' Chips and Salmon with fries. For dessert we enjoyed Strawberry Cake. Their dishes are well cooked, not spicy and mouth watering. The place is spacious, you can sit inside as well as outside. There is a fireplace too. The staff are great, helpful and friendly. Great value for money.

I have been regularly (3 times a week) in this restaurant in the last three years since 2015.
There are a lot of people who come regularly several times a month, because the location and the atmosphere of this restaurant is irresistable!
I love the location of this place. You sit open air directly at the beach, or indoors protected against the Northsea weather - wind, or rain or even both.
The service staff has been always very friendly end helpful. The staff in the kitchen is great.
