Nice hotel on top of a hill on the river. The building is very nice and it is just next to the entrance of the actual castle. The room I stayed was nice, although I had higher expectation from a romantic hotel (it is part...of the romantik hotels) that is also a castle. The room itself was spacious, while the bathroom was very small and also a bit outdated. The breakfast was very limited and the quality not up to the standard that one can expect. We had dinner also in the restaurant. The food itself was not too bad. The choice on half board was limited and highly concentrated on meat. Also, we were celebrating a very special occasion that occurred during that weekend and the staff did not make any effort to make our staying special. For instance, on the evening dinner we asked for a table next to window and they did not give it us.More

This place is coined as being a gourmet experience... it definitely isn’t. We got a three course dinner two nights in a row (package deal) and the first day, the elderly woman waiting our table really couldn’t be bothered. The first two dishes were cold...when they finally arrived and the last dish was warm and it took almost 3 hours to complete the dinner while other couples with other waiters did the same in less than 2 hours. The second day, the service was alot better, but the food still not great.More

Service doesn’t merit the price. Should have taken a hint from how gruff the hostess was on seating us, or when we didn’t even have menus while all of the locals. When she was short in explaining the parking, in so doing it caused me...to spend an extra euro (not a big deal) but also to miss lunch being served. When asking her what to do with the ticket, she lied about what she had said, then said she doesn’t speak English well, then just turn and walked away from me while i was explaining the correct English phrase. I am sure to merit a spot as the hostess at a popular tourist location her resume extolled her English abilities. While explaining all of this to the manager, the hostess then ran across the room chastising one of the staff in front of the guests. Again spoiling the mood. Worst the food doesn’t merit the price, the veal and duck both had the same sauce. The duck itself was flavorless and over cooked (the veal was lovely)More

We took the river boat there and then walked the rest. To get up to the castle you have to walk uphill for a couple of blocks. It’s pretty steep. There is some parking at the entrance. It was like everything else I have experienced...here in Germany. You buy tickets and walk in. I imagine that you can just walk in without payment since no one is there to collect tickets or even check to make sure you have paid. The grounds are very neat. Lots of beautiful views from the top. There’s a small museum inside. The bathrooms were interesting.More

This restaurant has the best view over the River. The food was excellent and delivered with good service, a bit on the pricey side.

They didn't care to serve the guests. Walked out without lunch after an hour and it never came. Had to ask to pay for the water finally so we could just leave starving.

We had dinner here both nights in St Goar. The raw vegetable salad was excellent as was the duck and the trout. Good service and stunning views. Need to book on weekends.

We had most lovely dinner at Schloss Rheinfels "Niche" table. It is a private setting overlooking to river Rhein and Sankt Goar with splendid scenery to admire. Our waiter was nice and very well mannered.

Never mind the food, the view was incredible. We were taken here to have lunch with our tour guide with PMK Day Tour. What a lovely place. The food was very good, but who can think of eating when you are overlooking the Rhine River....Our guide made sure that we had a table in the terrace right by the edge. It was an amazing experience we will never forget. Thank you!More

This is a magnificant place both hotel and restaurant. This time we only had lunch at the terrace. (try to book ahead due to very busy) We had the very traditional Flammkuchen in two versions. Both very very good and tasty. Service was fine and...the view increadible. We can recommend both hotel and restaurant.More
