Great food, amazing taste and presentation. Amazing, beautiful setting, right on the Rhine. Great pricing for such delicious food, but the number one thing in my mind that sets this restaurant apart was how kind everyone was here! My two boys learned a little German,...I remember a little from high school days, they really were so happy to help us, and kindly accept our attempt at inept German. Gefüllter spiessbraten (stuffed roast) oh baby! Delicious! Räucherlachs (smoked salmon) was amazing, but it is not really cooked at all, so if this sets you off, don't get this. Dorschfilet (cod) you get a good size piece of fish. Schweineschnitzel, pork, was high quality! Our eight person family ate for 137 € but then the ever present rip-off tax (19%) for eating in Germany brought the bill to 163 €. Still a great deal! Soups, desserts, apps all incredible taste! Add these kind people, I would say don't miss this place!More

Ate here our last night in St Goar. Definitely the best schnitzel we had on our entire trip to Germany.

We had a splendid meal here one evening. Friendly booking and welcome by the elderly owners. A nice table and very comprehensive menu. My wife had Sea Bass and I had Zander with soup and salad to start and Eissoufles for desert. All washed down...with a nice local Reisling. Service was very good and the food well presented. The chef came out for a chat. A very nice place indeed and we would eat here again as a first choice if back in St Goar.More

Real, fresh German food. Excellently prepared from scratch by the 82-year old award-winning chef and his team Service, decor and food all 5 stars In the day and age where people take shortcuts, you can really tell when someone make something from scratch in German...cuisine. a huge thank you to the very kind team for accommodating our group of 20 family members, and for producing the best meal that I had in Germany during our stay.More

We were desperate for a place to eat and were lucky enough that this restaurant was open. The woman in the kitchen seemed angry at first that we were there so late even though they were supposedly open, but she warmed up to us after...awhile. They did not have an English menu so we were mostly guessing what we were ordering as the woman did not speak any English either. My husband ended up getting a wiener-schnitzel dish and loved it. I got a marinated beef dish and hated it. I think it is a very traditional German dish, but being a picky eater, it did not work well for me. Overall, if you want traditional German food, go here. If you are not sure and want to play it safe, I would go somewhere else. And don't go in too late asking for food even if their sign says they are open!More

I stopped here for lunch today. I was able to get an outside table with a good view of the river. I had a very good Wiener Schnitzel that was perfectly prepared. I was disappointed to learn that they had only bottled beer. Prices are...a bit higher when compared to similar restaurants. They also do not accept credit cards.More

We had the tagliatelle with fresh seasonal mushrooms. Really fresh and a delight. The Wiener Schnitzel was from the calf and prepared as it should be! Recommended! Service and Wine were just as good.

This was a wonderful place to have lunch and enjoy the view of the river. The menu is in German & English and can accommodate groups with both inside & outside seating. Everyone of our group loved their meals & beer. Wunderbar!
