Had an uneventful lunch across the street, so we decided to treat ourselves to dessert at Cafe St. Goar. It was September and everyone was advertising the local plum cake (Pflaumenkuchen) and wine. Tasty. The place was packed with river cruise passengers so the waitress...was very direct and efficient. No time for friendliness. I enjoyed our time there.More

Wish we had discovered it before the last day of our trip to St. Goar- would have eaten there again. This was where we had the best pretzel of our trip. The Stammer Max was good too.

We came here every day during our stay to buy Brötchen (bread rolls) for breakfast. Always fresh, always delicious - we ended up eating loads of them! The Apfelstreusel is also amazing...

Cute cafe in St. Goar, definitely worth visiting in the area. We shared two cakes. The black forest cake (Schwärzwalder Kirschtorte) which was nice and light, and not too sweet, but the cake was too dry. The portion was quite big. We liked the Frankfurter...torte more: this was sponge layered with buttercream and jam, topped with nut brittle. It was much sweeter than the black forest cake though. Their cakes were all 3.20 EUR, and you can add cream for 0.70 EUR. Service is good and they speak English. There's quite a bit of outdoor seating.More

We stopped at this Café after dinner upon our arrival in St. Goar. There were just too many delicious looking cakes and tortes and pastries to choose from. Our server was very sweet and took care of us right away. My husband got his favorite,...Black Forest Cake and I got the chocolate St. Goar Torte. I have to describe it to you. Starting from the bottom, a cookie crust, raspberry jam, chocolate cake, a thin layer of marzipan all drenched in chocolate ganache. And yes, it was as good as it sounds! Coffee was good too. You can dine inside or outside. Be sure to checkout the teapots lining the top self around the entire restaurant.More

This is a must stop if you’re in town. We shared the Black Forest Cake which was wonderfully light. With a coffee and a hot chocolate. Great service. Seating outside too.

Just got off the Rhine cruise decided to pop in for a sandwich, excellent choice of sandwiches, cakes, pastries, teas, coffees, ice creams etc. Sandwiches are lovely and fresh and the service is excellent. Bought some cakes for the journey home.
