Lovely location in the terrace restaurant overlooking the valley below the town square. Kids were excited to see a play park below, alongside the church ! Good friendly service. Adults enjoyed rosti in various forms; kids were swamped by the chicken goujons and chips (Daddy had to finish them; we should have requested a shared portion). After a trip to... More

I wandered into this small restaurant on the main street in Gruyeres, and was so happy I had. My table in the back of the restaurant had a spectacular mountain view. It was quiet in the restaurant, as no tour groups were on site. I ordered salad and the traditional dish of "rösti" with ham. The dish was huge and... More

Went there with my swiss family, we reserved a table in advance, and were awarded with a table of 6 with view. The restaurant opens at 11A, and we turned up at 11.15 for the apero (white wine, Johannisberg), and started ordering around 11.30. The good thing about being early is that it is quiet : the tours have not... More

I went with my couple and ordered a cheese fondue with boletus (mushrooms). It was delicious!. They put bread and small potatoes to mix with the melted cheese. Typical but very good combination! The service was kind and the restaurant closes late comparing with the commerce in the village. We started dinner at 21h. Price is not cheap like almost... More

This is one of many restaurants in the village, also one of a number offering the local specialities. At midday in the week it was quiet, so service was rapid. You can eat on the terrace in front, or go through to the back room for a view of the mountains. We had the "soupe de chalet", essentially a thick... More

Full course €38 per head, as an asian I felt exp. Appetizer-Fondue. Main and dessert was typical ( good but not that special), so let;s back to fondue. Bread, boiled or steamed potato plus some picked cucumber n garlic. But OMG their cheese was not funny, so addictive, just non stop refill that magical melted cheese dip whatever there is,... More

Had dinner here last Saturday evening, and we made sure we book a table at the rear end of the restaurant, where there is an amazing view of the valley. The Food was very delicious and also the wine (Humagne Rouge) we were had. I had the Chocolate waffle with Gruyere double cream. Saying its was very delicious is not... More

My favorite restaurant in Gruyere. If you want something light then the salads with quiche or dried meets and cheeses are a good choice. For something more substantial go for the excellent fondues, my favorite is the one with truffles.
