We walked in on a Thursday 2pm, sat down and had a very warm welcome from the waitress. The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet location and was busy considering the location. She immediately gave us water, half a glass of presecco and a...starter-sized dish of carrot and olive oil mash (sounds bad, but was delicious!) and bread, which was so lovely and unexpected! We ordered the 3 mini starters for our starter, you get to choose any 3 starters and they serve you mini portions of any 3 you choose, for 13 euro. The portions are SO generous, and delicious. We regretted ordering a main, there was SO MUCH FOOD! ;) It was all delicious, the service was SUPER, the VIEWS were second to none. All in all, a lovely restaurant at brilliant value, interesting wines, we had such a brilliant time. We will certainly return. Thank you Trattoria Dal Pagano! xMore

We stayed at the B&B and had two breakfasts and two dinners at Trattoria Dal Pagano. The breakfasts were great with many including meat and eggs, fruit and pastries. Very nice. We had a big meal one night with antipasto, then pasta dishes and meats...and dessert and too much vino. It was great. The second night we had a focaccio pizza which suited us very well. Four meals all great. Thanks Leonardo.More

Taken by family to this as a local favourite and we can see why they did. To start, the views are stunning looking across the rolling hills over Casoli. Menu offers a good selection and I can highly rate the Antipasti appetiser along with the...Mixed Grill for lunch. Both courses offered a great selection of different foods to try and all worth it. Wine as ever was great and the staff all very friendly indeed.More

We were taken to this Trattoria when we were staying in Palombaro with relatives and what a treat it was ! Leonardo and his wife cooked us all a fabulous special meal with several courses of delicious fish, prawns, squid and of course, lovely home...made pasta. It was at a fixed price of 40euros per head which included drinks. The meal was well worth the price and we even got a full blown thunderstorm thrown in which made for a memorable evening. I understand that their normal menu is also great but at more normal prices for the area. If you want a treat however go on a Friday evening but you need to book.More

When I have family, friends or guests from overseas I always make a detour to take them to Dal Pagano. I have ordered many dishes in the past, like the grilled lamb, slow cooked lamb shanks with peas, mint and wild asparagus. That was wonderful....One of my favourite dishes though has to be the traditional Abruzzese polenta with tomato sauce served on a wooden board. Thanks Leonardo!More

Ate here a couple of times. The food was very good though it did lack a bit of atmosphere! It seems to be the only restaurant in the village of Palombaro so maybe they don't have to try too hard!

Situated on a hill above the village of Palombaro with views over Lago di Casoli this is a hidden gem. Leo really is the most congenial of hosts, the food is to die for, if you get the chance you MUST eat at one of...the Festivals of Food that they regularly host. The local pasta dish Vrache di Mulo (Mules reins: a mixed 4 meat ragu with wide ribbon pasta) is legendary and one that even Italians will drive miles to sample. Their mixed hot and cold starter plate is excellent, seasonal and different every time. This restaurant is consistently good, I highly recommend it.More

I find it tragic that such a fine restaurant has been the first restaurant in the district to pander to foreign tourism. We have been supportive customers for many years, but after three bad meals, and overpriced evenings here, we have finally - and reluctantly-...decided to go elsewhere. There is the amazing Buccaniero, just down the hill (10€ for an ordinary meal, wine & coffee thrown in, or La Flamenco, if you wish to go generously epicurean. Dal Pagano has abandoned the beautiful integrity of this lovely district. Starters, wine & doodahs were 90odd euros for 4 adults. Grossly overpriced! I am so sad to see the deterioration in such a well loved restaurant. Leonardo! Get a grip!More

Love this friendly, family run restaurant. We have been several times, always had lovely food, great choice from the menu but will also oblige if something different is required. Lovely fresh fish, homemade pizza and pasta together with a beautiful view. Give it a try...you won't be disappointed.More

Arrived not knowing where I was going and was met by Leonardo who quickly showed me my room. The room was lovely and comfortable with a great view of the valley towards the lake and Casoli and Palombaro. The food here is absolutely delicious and...plenty of it... beware if you are not a big eater because the portions are large :-) The staff Adriano and Disaree (Leonardo's wife I think?) are very very helpful and full of fun. There attention to you having a great experience is second to none. All in all a great place to stay and eat and at very reasonable prices. As i have just bought an apartment in Palombaro I will definately be eating here and recommending people to stay when I am over.More

We arrived in the dark not really knowing quite where we where! In the morning Jude opened the curtains and was totally astounded by the most spectacular sunrise and views over the hills towards the sea with the mists flowing in the valleys. The rooms...were clean and most comfortable. There is a common lounge area beneath the restaurant just outside the rooms where we stayed that we used to share a bottle of wine with friends we made upstairs during our meal! Breakfast was a huge spread of cheese, cereal, meats, toast, bread and eggs as you want. This was enjoyed with views to die for out of the windows. Dinner was equally fantastic with typically many courses and with fresh pasta made by the owner. The house wine was more than acceptable, certainly after the second bottle!!! The owner did the most fantastic job of looking after us over the three days we stayed. I should also mentioned we are vegetarian and all the time we stayed he catered for us, he did so with meticulous care and understanding. Would we stay again, definitely!More

Quiet taverna, with stunning views high up on the side of the Majella. A family run business providing traditional food and wine from the region. Excellent value for money with good all around service. Dining is inside with ample room, simple with colourful decor. The...venue also has a nice terrace during the warmer months for al fresco. Definitely worth a visit up to the taverna simply for the views if visiting Palombaro. Closed Mondays.More
