I always go to the Jug and Glass when I come back to Derbyshire to visit my parents. It's a standby to which I always take them for lunch together with some friends of theirs and I have never been disappointed. My last visit in February was no exception. A young lad was on duty who could not have been... More

My friends and I enjoyed an absolutely gorgeous Sunday lunch on 19 February 2017. We were a group of 17 lively ladies who were away for the weekend and staying nearby at Lea Hall. We all enjoyed our Sunday lunch, it really it was top quality food in particular my roast beef was more like steak - best roast dinner... More

Delicious starters of goats cheese & pate. Main meal was a lovely fillet steak and a fantastic sauce however the frozen chips certainly spoilt it.....Do not expect frozen chips when you are paying £17 for a steak

I was part of a group of five people, friends and family who visited this pub on Saturday night. We'd never been before and only intended to stop for one or two drinks to sample the atmosphere of a nice, quiet country pub. We we're served by a young lad and, although he didn't do anything wrong as such, he... More

We live 3 miles (walk) from this pub and use it as our preferred walk and lunch venue from home when friends visit. Quality beer, friendly welcome and pretty decent pub grub make it a good spot especially if the weather works for sitting outside. Also been for dinner which is homely rather than great but certainly nothing to criticise.... More

We were there with 5 adults, 3 kids and a baby and we accommodated (probably wisely!) in a separate room off the bar. The service was good and the food was excellent. Good kids menu and the hanging kebabs are recommended!

Service could have been quicker, but they managed to cater for a very large group, and the food was good when it arrived. A popular atmospheric pub, with generous and well presented food.

I live in Hong Kong but return to Derbyshire to see family two or three times a year. A visit (or more than one) to the Jug and Glass is always on the list of things to do when I'm back. Every visit I have always had a warm welcome and good food at reasonable prices. My eight-year-old son loves... More
