A cool spot on the beach to have a few drinks and chat and chill with your lover, family or friends or locals. Bar has limited seating inside so you may need to hover behind someone to claim that seat. Food was average, burgers made to order, and condiments were optional meaning you would add whatever you want to your burger yourself. I ordered the chicken burger which was good (considering I was starving) added lettuce and onions and ketchup. My hubby ordered two cheeseburgers and he likes it with only ketchup. The conch salad is a must but you have to order it on the beach at the conch stand, only one guy running that stand, chopping the ingredients, prepping the salad and taking the money..... I’ve been craving conch salad since I was in Turks and Caicos (plucked out of the ocean and served on our boat) and so I couldn’t pass it up even if he didn’t wash his hands but after 4 beers I didn’t care. Added hot sauce on it and damn so worth it. $10 for a bowl.

My wife and I have travelled all over the Caribbean and I would say that Chat N’ Chill is not only the best bar I’ve ever been to but the best place I’ve ever been to in general. All the food is delicious and the drinks are ice cold and amazing! The conch salad is the best and Renaldo is an awesome guy. Order a conch salad and watch him make it in front of you and then get the leftover conch parts to feed the stingrays. Smiley is our favorite bartender, he makes great drinks and is a fun guy. The pina colada’s are really good and the Kalik is ice cold!

We stopped at CnC during our boat excursion and overall it was ok. The food was >$20 for a plate of smoked pork and sides. It was OK. We waited in line for 20 mins to buy warm 6 pack of beer for $40. Yep. warm beer. Would say that if you have only 1 day on Exuma and take the ferry to the CnC, then be ready for a ok food and prices reflective of the location. You will have a good time but manage your expectations.

We rented a Jeep for the day and read the reviews so added this “must-do” to our itinerary. So, so sorry we did. Per couple in US (plus tips): $30 water taxi; $20 cocktails - 2 total; $15 for grilled cheese and conch burger - both were so gross we ate neither. Two pieces of cold cheese on a bun and a gray slab with strange crunchy things is how we would describe the “burger”. The beach was filthy as was the bar. Paid too much for this experience in our opinion. Fortunately we only spent an hour or so here and were glad to leave and move on.

We used Elvis’ water taxi from government port behind straw market for $15/pp for round trip ($10/pp one way). It was somewhat of adventure to track down boat driver as busy day in port. We arrived around noon on a Wednesday to find the place nearly empty & quiet. More guests soon arrived & music (not live) started. We walked fairly limited shoreline and spent time in water before ordering food. Not best beach or view in my opinion. No worker on property observed to be wearing mask. Our food was ready with 15 minutes - it was simple but good. Ambiance lost by names being called over loud speakers to pick up food. We took boat driver’s tip to walk ocean beach path behind restaurant across island to Atlantic Ocean side. The 10-15 minute walk required crossing small bay inlet so low tide walk recommended given it was waist high (I’m 5’8”) then. While I would not say path is strenuous, uneven footing would make it challenging for some. The walk ended in beautiful, empty beach - much preferred to Chat N Chill chaos & crowd & made it 4 star review.

We had read many reviews and comments about Chat n Chill before our trip and we’re expecting a lively, happening experience. Granted we visited there in the “off season” so the only thing there was a restaurant and an overpriced gift shop. The most interesting thing on the island was watching the stray cats eat the strips of conch shell thrown to them by the beach combers. I would not spend the money to cross the channel to visit there again.

During our recent trip to Exuma, my family and I had the opportunity to visit Chat N’ Chill. We went to the restaurant on a Sunday, which is when they have their weekly pig roast. At first, I was skeptical that the restaurant was going to be little more than a tourist trap, but I was quickly proven wrong! While Chat N’ Chill does mainly cater to tourists, the food and drinks were excellent and it wasn’t overpriced. I recommend eating as much pork and macaroni and cheese as you can, then washing it down with a Goombay Smash or one of their frozen cocktails! In addition to eating and drinking, they also offer beach chair and umbrella rentals, and they have several Cornhole boards around the property. We ended up staying at Chat N’ Chill the entire afternoon and had a great time! Chat N’ Chill is defiantly a must-visit place if you’re in Exuma on a Sunday, but is also worth the trip any other day of the week as well!

Thank you for taking the time to give us a good review. Indeed, Chat ‘N’ Chill® is not a tourist trap, given the fact that our establishment is a favorite spot among many seasonal boaters, winter residents, and locals as well. We appreciate your detailed compliments about our food & services. Thank you for the recommendations of our Pig Roast, macaroni ‘n’ cheese, Goombay Smash, and frozen cocktails. We are happy to know that we met your expectations and that you had a great time during your stay here. We look forward to welcome you on your next visit!! KB, Kwanza & The Chillologist™ Crew

I felt like this is a one of those must-do's when visiting Exuma, but I wish we would have eaten lunch somewhere else before we went. We would have been much happier just people watching, playing volleyball, swinging and having a few drinks. Instead, we waited about an hour for so-so burgers and hot dogs. Perhaps the conch salad would have made our meal better, but the guy was out by the time we go to him (about 1pm on a Friday). The little bar was hopping with several bartenders but the service was really slow. I was glad to see they had bathrooms on the island, but they were pretty gross.

Not worth the $80 water taxi….($20 per person) Underwhelmed on service, food, and dirty atmosphere. Not really sure why people find this a desirable place. You can spend 2 hours and $300 on lunch in much nicer places with much better food. I’ll never return.

This restaurant is raved about on so many sites, even by the taxi drivers we came across, however, it was not as expected. It really looked run down. I was so surprised when I finally saw what was listed as "you can't call your Exuma visit complete if you haven't stopped at Chat 'n' Chill". Don't get me wrong, the staff were friendly, but the place was dingy. Wood looked very worn down, almost felt like an old large abandoned shack. I went to wash my hands and in the bathroom, I ran into a woman who told me, without me asking or saying anything, that the owners were "loaded" but won't put a dime into maintaining the place. She said it is a good place to get drinks/drunk and that's all that mattered on the island. As she was talking, one of the toilets randomly flushed on its own. There was no air circulation, fan or AC and she said that its hard to get things like infrastructure on a remote island, though it is a 5 minute boat ride from the mainland, AND there are literally 2 fully functioning resorts a 5 minute walk away, which is how we arrived. On that walk, you will pass a junk yard of some black trash bags all along the foliage, and glass bottles all in the water. I ordered a sandwich and got hamburger buns with a slice of cheese, 10 minutes after ordering. And there was not much in the gift shop. The resort had its own gift shop, I'd recommend that one. Overall, I think if it was broadcast as a hole in the wall bar, I wouldn't of had such high expectations. I'd of visited it still, but due to the false pretenses, I had to leave this review. It is a spot for the older crowd, regulars. We didn't stay long. I hope they clean it up and update it to keep up with their surroundings. The totem of city names is a picturesque spot. That's about it for us personally. We checked it out and can say we did, but trust, you aren't missing anything if you don't stop here.

We've been coming to CnC since 2008 and while it's change a little, it's still more or less the same! It's a busier spot than before, and if you're ordering food at lunchtime like most other people will, please be patient, it's island time after all. If you don't want to queue for a bit, order before or after the lunch rush - there might only be one guy on at the bar, and he's taking food orders, drink orders, making the drinks, serving the food. We had the grilled island fish with fries & it was superb. A beautifully seasoned piece of mahi, zero bones & it went down a treat! Everything in Exuma is expensive especially now as everything on the planet has gone up in price. But a day trip to CnC is always worth it, especially when I got to swim with 3 dolphins just off shore, then a large 5 foot reef shark, aswell as the stingrays of course!! Don't forget to 'hike' to the Atlantic side, it's a 10 minute trip but it's amazing, and there's usually nobody else there! Thanks again KB & Kwanza!

Took Elvis's taxi over for lunch, which is $15 person round trip. Ordered 3 burgers, fries, and drink which came to $42 which is very reasonable for island food. They were very busy and it took 35 minutes for the food - but keep in mind you are on "island time". Small beach but has white sand, clear water, and plenty of stingrays to see. Good choice for lunch.

Loved this place! The food and atmosphere at chat n' chill was wonderful but the highlight of our day was the Conch salad. Rolando brings the conch right out of the ocean and prepares it with the freshest ingredients right before your eyes. We fed some to the sting rays who swim right up to the shore and took it right from our hands. One of the most fun and delicious meals I can ever remember.

I liked the food at the pig roast, but really enjoyed going there on other days when there was less people (and lines). This place is special. The atmosphere can't be beat. Sitting in the shade with a cold drink after a day of boating around the harbor - it is the most chill feeling you will ever experience. The conch salad was my fav. The whole experience of watching him clean the conch (so fresh its still moving), make it, share the scraps with the kids to feed the rays.....made some memories. Make sure you ask him to make it the way he likes it (HOT!). ALso if you like HOT - try the hot sauce with the pig roast - make sure you put it on the side!! * Only negative was beer was warm on pig roast day and that day the annoying tourists that we didn't miss the whole 1.5 weeks we were there showed up. Other than that I don't know who could not love this place.

After a long long wait with Elvis’s water taxi, we reached here on a short boat ride. Of course the place was busy with lots of boats around the island. It is a place to party with loud music, beach games and abundance of drinks from the bar. Luckily we did find a picnic table to sit down. Food ordering took time because of the number of people trying to order drinks :). We ordered 2 of their goombay smash, kids punch I think, 2 conch burgers and a pig roast plate. The drinks came right as we ordered and they were fine….good smash fwiw. We could go pick up the roast plate which was a plate of bbq meat, Mac and cheese, carrots or cole slaw and peas n rice. It wasn’t absolutely worth the 25 bucks price tag! The bbq pig was just okay. After a reasonable time, our names were called for the rest of the food. The conch burgers were okay…nothing special but not bad. We did have an excellent time playing with the stingrays and kids loved the beach. So if you go there to enjoy the beach and stingrays along with drinks, it will probably be worthy of your time and money. Don’t go there for beach relaxation and food.
