We were staying a few minutes away in Canaston Oaks and the owners there recommended this place. Great food (Chicken, Ham and leek pie and a lemon & herb crusted chicken). There was plenty of both. The onion rings ordered as a side were immense too. A special mention for our server Ryan Edmundson. Attentive without being over bearing. If... More

Two recent visits firstly Saturday night very busy. Food excellent but where is the manager. The staff very young and inexperienced and although very pleasant they seemed to be overwhelmed and you felt you wanted to get up and give them a hand. Second visit was a lunchtime and very quiet. No heating on so very cold. Food very good... More

Good value traditional Sunday lunch in pleasant surroundings. Attentive staff and plenty to eat with a fine selection of veg and perfect roast potatoes. What more could you ask for?

To order apple crumble and custard and not be told it contained nuts was very disappointing. Leaving the dish with the explanation of the dangers of such lack of information and then to be charged for it suggested lack of customer concern. And avoid the vegetarian lasagne until you are prepared for a dish of mush!

The food here was absolutely amazing! My partner and I were staying nearby at bluestone and decided to venture out for our meal! The staff were very attentive and the food was outstanding! I had the lamb shank (which literally fell off the bone and everything along with it was very well seasoned) and my partner had the burger which... More

The atmosphere inside was warm and the staff very friendly. Extensive lunch menu and the portions were large. Sadly, the delay before it arrived plus the fact that the chicken dish was overcooked and rather rubbery spoiled the general effect.

The food was perfect. Hot and fresh and as we ordered. The portion sizes were spot on. The service was first class and they were very attentive. Very Highly recommended . We will definitely visit the Boars Head again when where here.

Yet again another gorgeous Sunday roast lunch brought to us piping hot along with a lovely choice of fresh vegetables and with beef that melted in our mother. The staff were all very helpful and didn't stop smiling. We will definitely be going back and definitely recommend to all my family and friends. Thank you to all your staff.

Seated in what looked like a child's crèche - the family room awful decor so atmosphere poor. Once seated in the crèche we seamed to be forgotten about. We booked for 1:30 dinner finally arrived at 3pm - plates were brought out individually some of us having to wait a further fifteen minutes for dinner to arrive at our table.... More

Have visited several times and the food and service was very good. However we shall not be returning after our last visit. On previous visits we have had chunky chips with our meal and there was a sign on the wall saying about chunky chips. However when the meal was served the chips were thin. When we queried this we were... More
